Never use a phone company again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Ooma for about 2 months now and the call quality is excellent. My phone is bill is less than $4 dollars a month. In 3 months I will have recouped my cost of the purchase with the monthly savings. I would highly recommend.

Defective and Unreliable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the telo for a month now. I am on my 2nd telo with a 3rd on the horizon. First telo had issues in beginning, but got better. However, the speaker in the machine which announces how many messages you have was choppy and echoed: Every other syllable was blocked out: You __ mess __ and __ save __ mess__ges. (Outside callers voicemail messages were fine.) I talked to customer service level 1. Their stock answer was always reboot telo and modem. Once they checked internet speed and told me it was great. Then they passed me on to level 2 customer service who performed a number of additional tests. Level 2 couldn't resolve the problem; they determined it was a speaker issue, and sent me a new telo 2 weeks later. The 2nd telo had the same poor quality announcer speaker issues as the 1st. In addition, when I turned the brightness of the blue status light down to 1 (dimmest), the telo started automatically rebooting itself frequently and randomly. During these reboot episodes lasting 3-5 minutes each, I had no phone service which concerned me in case of an emergency. I noticed a correlation between the brightness settings and the automatic telo reboots: The dimmer the brightness, the more frequently the telo rebooted itself. It was still happening at the highest brightness setting of #4 (highest). The dimness control seems to control the electrical power of the telo. I called customer service several times. Level 1 couldn't resolve it. Sometime I was lucky enough to get someone immediately at level 2, other times level 1 told me level 2 would call back - they never did. You have to be very persistent and not give up to get any resolution. Then they told me to plug the telo into a different outlet. Hmmm... My computer tower, monitor, modem and printer have been using this electrical outlet for over 10 years and there has never been any problem with the outlet. Even the 1st telo did OK in the outlet. I tried another outlet which is not convenient. Same problems at first. Then later I tried it with an extension cord, kept the brightness at # 4, and now a solid purple light has come on twice automatically which means it is in do not disturb mode. I didn't even touch it. The only way I can clear it is by rebooting the telo. Also, I'm having trouble deleting messages: The delete button doesn't work right away-- I have to go 5 times through the process of listening to a message and pressing delete until it finallty gets deleted. I will have to call customer service again. It seems like it's easier for Ooma to send out a new device every time there is an issue, rather than fixing the existing problems and sending out a reliable quality machine without defects. I'm betting the 3rd telo they send me will have the same speaker problems as telo 1 and 2, andfrequent automatic rebooting issues as telo 2. Unfortunately I bought my telo from Best Buy which has only a 2 week return period, so I am stuck with the telo now. It's too bad because the telo could be a great product if Ooma fixed the bugs it could save people a lot of money on phone service. Also, you have to return your "defective" telo to Ooma after you receive your new replacement. I did so 2 days afterwards, but it takes 10 days to get to Ooma's California location. In the mean time, Ooma kept sending me emails and voicemails that if I didn't return it in 14 days, I would be charged. They could have simply checked the tracking number they assigned in their return label to see that it was enroute. I had even called them to let them know I brought it to the UPS store, but the messages continued until they finally received it.

Great VoIP phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only drawback that I've come across with Ooma is that they charge $40 to port your existing number over. The price is higher but the quality is better than other VoIP phones. They do have some nice but pricy accessories but I've found them cheaper online.

Great Phone Service
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had Ooma Home Phone Service for about seven years. It stopped working. I purchased a new service, but found out it was only the cord. Replaced the cord and it works fine. This phone service has saved me a lot of money over the years.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unit to use as a dedicated fax line and to make a call once in a while. Works great - Ooma ported number easily.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and works perfectly fine as expected. They made porting from my cable provider easy and handled everything. I just had to ensure the cable provider actually removed the service from their bill (not related to Oooma).

Ooma Oooh My
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this system for my home to eliminate monthly charges charged my the cable company. Our fees are roughly $4 and some change a month. Way cheaper than the $30 plus the cable company wanted to charge us, and the quality is the same if not better. You can get home calls routed to your mobile phone. Also, you can block telemarketers. Definitely a worthy purchase.

Don't expect Telo to last forever.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love Ooma. Had service for over 10 years; although, this is my third Telo, so previous one lasted 5 years each, on average.

Why did I wait so long?
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing! Initially we had a problem hooking it up with our cameras, but once we figured that out there were no problems. Call quality is great. Initially had some dropped calls, but after reconfiguring some settings hadn't had any issues since. Should have done this sooner!

I haven't paid the phone bill in 6 years
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned and Ooma for over 6 years. I just upgraded to the latest model. The call quality is the same as a corded phone. Calls to the United States are free. The money saved by using this unit is paid for within 3 months. If you are tired of paying for phone service and long distance calls, this is definitely the way to go. My entire family uses Ooma.

Ooma VoIP
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We're probably part of a handful of families who still use a landline service other than their cellphones. This Ooma product provides a cheap monthly phone service. Good value, for the money. Voice over Internet service works well.

No more home phone bills
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Ooma after looking at several other VOIP phone systems. I only have to pay for the monthly tax charges and not the add-ons unless I choose to. With other systems, there is a monthly charge other than taxes. Plus, it's transportable. I can take it wherever my job takes me as long as I have Internet service.

Great Home Phone Service
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The BEST VOIP phone service. Just connect to your router & online to turn on your service. Then you just pay around $5 or less depending on your location for basic home phone service. Or you can get their top of the line service $10.

Great product, great service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit hesitant cutting my landline in exchange for the Ooma device and service, however, after doing so I'm sorry I didn't do it earlier. So far, a month later, flawless service and great quality phone calls. Plus the big plus is that my monthly bill is cut by approx. 90%. Happy with this product and service.
