Customers consistently note the great call quality and ease of use of the Telo Internet Home Phone Service. Many appreciate the low cost, overall reliable performance, and simple setup. While the service offers a lot of features, some customers find the porting process to be expensive.

This product is very simple to set up. Ooma customer support is very descriptive and considerate. Once I had it set up I was making crystal clear phone calls at a fraction of the price of paying another telephone service provider.

This reduced our monthly phone by 50 dollars. We use our existing home phones, picked our own phone number (we chose one that spelled something). The sound quality is perfect - what's not to love.

Working to cut cables with the big providers and Ooma works as advertised. Was easy to set up out of the box, only needs an Ethernet cable to tie to your router, a standard phone cord to tie to your home phone base station, and a 110VAC power connection nearby. Once wired in, a quick call to Ooma registered the unit along with the one-time set up fee. If you want to keep your current phone number, $40 gets it ported over to Ooma (Ooma does the legwork, mine only took 2-days though they advertise up to 2 wks). Call clarity is great, voicemail works fine and I even get text notification of voicemails (by my option).

I like most people don't see the need for a home phone till now. I shopped around and didn't see paying $50 plus for basic home phone. I came across ooma and it's great. I pay $4.90 a month for basic home phone. Great call quality and a great deal.

Ooma did a great job porting my home line. It cost a one-time fee of $40 and it was completed in 3 business days.
Audio quality is exceptional, thanks to the HD codec they are using.
One thing to think about...in the event of a power loss, you'll want a battery back-up for your broadband modem/router and Ooma. That will allow you to make 911 calls when you've lost power.
There are 2 tiers of service. The basic tier for me is ~$5/month (taxes and 911 service). The second tier costs more but provides all kinds of extra features (white/black list), second phone number, etc.
I've tried the Ooma app for Android 4.4 (tried forwarding my home line to this) and the Ooma mobile app didn't quite work correctly.
You'll want to put your Ooma box in a visible location because the unit has buttons on the top that essentially function like an answering machine.

We previous purchased the Ooma system and disconnected our land line. It has more than paid for itself. We bought a vacation home and bought this one. The set up was simple.

we spend $6/month to have a reliable land-line service in our house. The signal is clear, it works great, and the Ooma customer service is excellent. We've had it for many years and will continue to do so. Cell service in our rural location is spotty, so this is a great solution.

Ooma Telo worked straight out of the box in minutes! Connected to Ooma servers immediately, updated, and was online in less than 5 minutes. Phone service and voice quality is as good or better than landline. Highly recommend this as an alternative to POTS.

Great value, easy to set up, on line instructions are some what confusing, but can be figured out. Connections are easy and it worked right out of the box. Porting is best done on the telephone , the on line gets gets lost and no action is taken.

Was able to leave Frontier Communications using an Ooma. It was easy to set up and was able to keep my home phone number. After being overcharged by Frontier for over 12 years, and 4 months of continuous errors I finally bought an Ooma Telo!

This is a replacement Ooma. The original was at least 15 years old. The device and technology is great. Ooma customer service not so great. One has to call Ooma customer service and wade through their automated system to explain that you have an account and are installing a replacement unit. Took 2 days. Otherwise its working great.

I replaced by $50 per month landline with this unit, and setup was pretty easy. I subscribed to their "prime" service which allowed me to port my old phone number to this unit, which only took a few days to have done.

Connects to Ooma but this one has poor sound with blips. I don’t recommend. If you have to buy it, keep the box so you can exchange it.

I was wary of transitioning from a landline to VOIP but this Ooma solution worked perfectly and was easy to set up. It's saving me over $85/month now that I've ditched the land line.

The Ooma works perfectly for me. The longest part of the setup process was determining which phone number I wanted for the new line. If I hadn't bothered to care so much, it would have been up and running in 15 minutes. And the calls sound great!
