We just received our first bill which was only $4 bucks. Huge savings over what we were previously paying with AT&T for service.

I started with Ooma to replace my internet phone from my cable provider. They started jacking up the rates, so I knew it was time to make the switch. Ooma can be really inexpensive or moderately inexpensive depending on which features you add to the service. The sound quality is not perfect, but seems to be good enough. It is about what I have come to expect from internet phone service quality. You can port your old phone number or pick a new one, which is nice. Overall this is a good product that I would recommend as long as you keep their service long enough to pay for the up front equipment cost.

I cut the cord and gave up my Time Warner VoIP phone. We still needed a phone so children could dial 911 in the event of an emergency. This fills that need. The phone calls are clear and set up was simple. I purchased the extended service for the extra features, so I pay about $15 a month for phone, which is a great savings over Time Warner.

Finally dropped the landline, but I switched to a Vonage, bad move, the call quality was terrible and the feature set wasn't great at all. Ooma just works and it works well. The best feature is being able to hear messages as people leave them. No other VoIP provider I know of offer this feature. Also the teleo HD is a great cordless phone. My only wish is that when buying premier yearly, you still can't pay the taxes ahead of time. Therefore I get a small charge on my credit card.
