We run a business and were able to have phones in our weld shops, paint booth, and personal shop in case we need to get ahold of any employees.

An amazing product

I also had a version 1 Magic Jack, which still continues to work. The OOMA is a superior device as it has built in voice message management. When my free COMCAST Landline is yanked away I'll port my long standing Comcast phone number to the OOMA.

It does depend on your internet, so if your internet is down, so will your phone. I was paying almost $40 per month with Cox for home phone service, so Ooma is definitely worth it. I wouldn't depend on this as my only phone, but I assume most of us have cell phones as a primary or backup phone.
