Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.replaced a bogus magic jack, which was ranked 10 on consumer reports vs. Ooma at #1. and Ooma has built in robo call protection. so twice the price, but light-years better product. downside is the need for a new phone number, quite a hassle

Did have to change my landline phone number again because I didn't want to wait 30 days to get my old number changed over. And, there is an additional cost to keep your old number. But, so far I am completely pleased. Nice addition to the family.

Cheap option for an emergency home phone line

They are a bit confusing on the setup as to what features are included and which cost extra ( I think they want you to get used to extra features before you realize they are going to cost extra). Call quality is about the same as a skype call.

A positive thus far.....

I have gigabit fiber to I figured this should not have ANY bandwidth problems. Installation was simple and all of my phones were connected to one plug into my fiber modem/router. AT&T did that for me which saved lots of time when I had UVERSE. I ported my old phone number which is a $40 charge but not a requirement as they will assign you a new number. The phone works well, sounds quality is good. My monthly bill is now $6.00 for basic service. So far so good.

Sound quality seems the same as it was, phone number port went well, takes about a week, but you just don't turn off old service until they let you know the porting is complete.
