The agents installed MacOS El Capitan on my early 2008 iMac. It did give them a bit of a hard time but they didn’t give up and got it reinstalled.

My issue was diagnosed almost immediately. All options were explained. I was quoted a great price i.e., not directed to the most expensive replacement drive. Within five hours I received a call that the new OS was installed and ready for pick up.
