Poor customer service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They persuaded me to buying the warranty/annual coverage for my broken computer only to find out it was not repairable then they never offered me a replacement. I felt like i purchased a warranty without having a computer to cover the item is a waste of my money especially when my pc wasn't repairable they knew that when i brought it in they just got a gain to my loss.

Unsuccessful Data Transfer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My external hard drive was unfortunately messed up in trying to do a data transfer with them. After the transfer was complete I don’t believe they checked their work b/c they would have noticed that they jumbled up and corrupted the files before trying to return it to me. In the end after paying for the membership to get their services, I ended up having to take my external hard drive and laptop to a completely different place to have them fix all the issues. If I had known a different place would have been more competent in solving my problem overall, I would have just gone to them in the first place and saved money.

Geek Squad fixed my computer

And they were unable to save my hard drive without charging an incredible amount of money. Customer service was pretty good though

Worst service I’ve ever had for the first time.

Second, they were very rude. specially one especially one of the employees named Justin. soon as I bring out my laptop and told him that I had a battery problem oh, it’s gonna blow up in my face he says and basically refuses to help me so he called a manager, but sat there and basically forgot to call the manager so I had to remind him. management wasn’t that much of a help waste of time. they did a halfway job on my computer. Wasted 400 and something semi dollars. Would not recommend geek squad.

Cleaned up my laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took my laptop in because it was running extremely slow. I got it back the next day. It still has tons of pop ups happening so I’m not sure what I even paid for.

No impressed with Geek Squad

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a computer over the phone and paid to have Geek Squad remove stuff from it, add Java and confirm that 4 monitors would work with the system. This computer was purchased for industrial applications. The customer service rep I spent an hour on the phone with, read back the instructions and seemed to understand what I asked for. When my engineering arrived, one the front door had no way of figuring out that he was looking for the Geek Squad. When that was finally sorted out, the representatives at the Geek Squad hadn't done everything that was asked for. One of them argued for about 15 minutes with my engineer that we had brought the computer in and should have had all the documentation with us when we did. We had never touched this computer, it went from their shelf to their Geek Squad. My engineer finally got it sorted it out and we still had to put an hour into it when we got back to the office, which is what we wanted to avoid in the first place. It wouldn't have been so bad if Geek Squad had actually cared and had an attitude of: Let's sort it out and make sure we deliver what we promised. This is one of the reason I don't love big box stores. There is too much of: I showed up therefore I should collect a paycheck, who cares if I get it right. I have owned a business for over 20 years and I don't believe the customer is always right, but I do think you should sit down and use good communication to sort it out and ensure you deliver what is promised.

Laptop fix

They said if another problem would arise I’d get a refund. When I took my computer home it still wasn’t working and I came back the next day just for someone to come and charge me more money to fix it again. Very disappointed.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BB was to fix my PC at home, but couldn't after an hour. Told me to take it to my local BB. They said the OS needed to be reloaded, and saved my data. They sent my PC to the Phoenix Service Center, and said the OS would be loaded in 1-2 weeks. After 3 weeks I tried to get status without any luck. Note you can't call the local BB directly, you have to go through their call service center which is definitely not in America. After over 6 weeks I finally got my PC back, except Agent Brayden at my local BB said all data was lost since they don't keep data for more than 30 days. I had to engage Agent Fausey (who was excellent, BTW) to restore my data which they had saved.

Reset of Windows 10
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy often doesn't have good customer service in the stores I visit particularly the Geek squad. I would rather go somewhere else to get my computers serviced however this was much more convenient and the job got done. I would love to see efforts made with pricing strategy for geek squad and get the geek squads agents a little more down to hearth, caring and helpfull. However I do purchase a lot of my items from these stores as they usually have a good selection, pricing and rewards program.
