I read reviews online for this projector but was still hesitant to buy it due to the price. I am glad that I ended up deciding order! This thing is amazing! The color is vibrant and bright! The image quality is amazing...simply jaw dropping! I have a theater room with a Dolby Atmos set up and 100" screen and this projector makes it seem as if you are at a top of the line theater! The projector is pretty large, but I have it mounted from the ceiling and it looks stunning! I wish that there had been an option for a black cover, but that is a very minor complaint. My first one arrived defective (bulb went out in the first 2 hours) and I was worried about the quality at this point. Having read countless reviews, I decided to go with the same projector for a replacement. The reviews are not wrong! This thing is beautiful! I watch movies with a Samsung 4K player and play games on a PS4 Pro...this thing was well worth the money spent!

Didn’t want to spend this much but so glad I went for it. It should last years we use it even more than we thought we would. Fantastic picture, Easy to set up. So bright it really looks like a tv. I’ve been around other projectors and they look faded and you have to wait until dark. We can start watch this about 1/2 an hour before sunset, which is why I think we use it more. Be sure to get a good screen, I didn’t want a blow up because of the noise, energy use and picture quality.

This projector replaced my Epson 5030ub which i had for 5 years. The UHD60 has an incredible picture with 4k hdr movies and video games. The 1080p image is almost as good as the Epson 5030 but not quite. But if you are looking for a projector to show 4k with hdr, you will be blown away with the image compared to the 1080p image. I can finally say i have a comparable image to my 4k sony tv in my living room but this UHD60 is 120 inches in my dedicated Home Theater room. The 1080p projectors and tvs out there cannot come close to the stunning image this displays. When watching cable tv the image is just like the Epson 5030 i had, but this thing really opens your eyes when you put in a 4k blu ray or a 4k video game from the Xbox One X. I have nevr seen such a beautifully huge crisp image and being able to watch 4k movies and play 4k video games you will definitely be happy you made the jump. 5/5 stars.

    Excellent Projector with Limited Flexibility

I have been using the product for last 2 months already. It has good enough brightness and its 4K performance is excellent. Overall it is an excellent projector. But it turns out projector is far more than its ability to project. Unlike TV, projector must be flexible to install. Short throw and keystone adjustment feature with broader zoom will have made this a good projector but it is not. It does not have feature set to accommodate flexible installation. You are stuck with having to modify your entire living room just to position the projector. Because it is not a short throw projector, I found it had to be installed in the back of the viewing area. Since it will be behind you have to mount it up in the ceiling. Then you will have to deal with cables to route this up there. Not a pretty stuff. It would be cheaper to buy new short throw then to remodel your house. I watched Star Wars 4K on this. It was spectacular. It shoots 180 feet screen on plain wall which has shallow texture. Texture didn't bother me. 180 seems to be a stretch as light was too spread to give you best brightness but it was good enough and when everything is positioned correctly, it was true cinema experience. 4K blows away 1080P if you bother to compare. But I hear our brain usually don't bother.

I recently upgraded from a BenQ W1080ST, and I could not be happier with this projector. The entire unit is rather large, about 1.5 times larger than my previous projectors, but it's well worth the size for what's packed inside. The image is crisp and vibrant, with HDR content popping off the screen. Setup was a breeze, and I had no problems accepting a 4K HDR signal from my PS4 Pro, Xbox One S, Fire TV, and PC. The projection is also bright enough to be watched with ambient light, though your mileage will obviously vary. It's a very quiet system, too, much more so than the devices I have plugged into it. Potential cons: Be advised that only one of the two HDMI inputs is HDCP 2.2 compliant, so you will likely need to use a switch or receiver if you plan on using multiple 4K devices. And unfortunately, there is no 3D capability with this projector, but I think that's an easy trade-off for consuming native 4K content with HDR.

I used to have a optima GT1080 projector and I thought that was the greatest little thing. The picture was bright and the it was pretty detailed. Black levels weren't that good but for a 10ft screen and a great image I was hooked on projectors from then on out! It finally had a big problem (color wheel I think) and I had already replaced the bulb once, I decided It was time for an upgrade. I decided it was time to transition to 4k and to get this new UHD60 projector. Immediately I noticed a big difference in both quality and performance! First off, I use this in a dedicated room with no outside light. It is a perfectly dark room with a generic white screen for displaying the image. Don't get a cheap ceiling mount like I did, this thing is pretty heavy and you would feel much safer getting a decent mount. One thing I learned that wasn't obvious at first is that only one of the ports is HDCP2. 2 ready but it wasn't ready out of the box. I had to find a guide on how to activate it. It's some random series of button pushing while the projector is off. A quick google search will help you out because the included manual is for a lack of a better term - a joke. It didn't come with a paper manual, it came with a CD. Computers are going away from CD drives so I had to borrow my dad's computer just to view the manual. The cd was also really slow through the manual menu items, but I only used it once and probably won't need it again. Tantrum over lol Maybe i just don't know enough about 4k and which HDMI to use, but for those who do not know this, please read this next part! I was using an original Xbox One, with the uhd60 projector, but my receiver was a first generation 4k receiver (Sony str-dh550). This setup would not display any 4k Image and I was very disappointed. It took me while to find out and read up on the new HDCP2. 2 protocol. If any part in the system doesn't support hdcp2. 2, no 4k images will be displayed. I had to buy a newer generation receiver that took this new protocol along with the new Xbox One x. It took me a while to get everything completely setup, but once I did.... The projector could really shine! This projector was incredibly bright! I had to turn the brightness down because it was fairly intense to look at at first (being used to the old projector i had). The image detail was absolutely incredible and the black levels and details seen in the black images was pretty amazing! Completely smokes the old 1080 projector I had out of the water. Plus the projector is incredibly quiet compared to the old one as well! A huge plus! Here is my only complaint so far. Every now and again the picture will flutter faintly on brighter images. Especially on still images. In a movie though I don't really notice it. I don't think it's still doing it, but if it is, it's so faint I don't worry about it. Maybe because I'm using a long 25ft HDMI cable, not sure...One additional thing is when I first got it setup, the colors looked a little off because it was so bright. Whites almost had a greenish tint, but I think that was because I was trying to set up the projector on my old receiver that wouldn't display the image to its fullest potential. Anyways it looks great now! Is it worth the price tag? If you have money to spend, please double check that all your sources are hdcp2. 2 compatible or else you may go down a rabbit hole of buying new equipment that can accept the hdcp2. 2 signal. For instance I had to buy a new Xbox and a reciever. Like I mentioned above, maybe it's just my bad luck and there was another way around it, but that's how it went down for me. Consider some extra room in your budget or else you could end up with an expensive projector hat would be limited to displaying a 1080p image until you spent the extra money to upgrade the rest of your system. The lens shift is a pretty good little feature, but to get to it, you have to open up a flap on the top and that flap feels so cheap that it doesn't really belong on this projector, but once you get it adjusted, you don't have to touch it again and would be out of sight and out of mind like it is for me now! Some may ask about the internal speakers, but I can't speak too much of them as I have a dedicated sound system so I've only heard the speakers for a fraction of a listening period. They sounded ok but i didn't really analyze it too much since I was getting ready for the big sound of a true surround sound system on this amazing 4k projector! If you have money to get a true sound system companied with this projector, you will be blown away with an experience that is absolutely incredible! Fyi I use a Bowers and Wilkins set for the front and center sperakers along with some fluance bipole speakers in the back. Using some no name 12" sub but it's a beast! For the addiotnal flare, get the harmony system to control your system from anywhere. It's a huge plus to walk into the house, pull out my phone, open the harmony app, press one button, and by the time I get to the room, everything is already turned on ready to go! A side note the projector does turn on pretty fast so don't worry about it. Overall this is a great projector! I can't wait to see what optoma and the competition come up with next! I see myself having this one for a long time ahead! Good job optoma!

This was an upgrade for me from a 1080p Viewsonic PRO8530HDL projector. I loved that projector, never had a problem with it, gaming, movies, anything, it just worked flawlessly. It was loud, and not really designed for movies and such, as it was designed more for business meetings and powerpoint slide shows and such. I wanted to go to a 4k model since everything else I do was 4k, and I didn't like having to drop down to use my projector. This cost less than the Viewsonic still runs new, so I felt it was worth the gamble. First thing I noted - the noise level. This is as close to dead silent as you can get, especially compared to the turbine sounding Viewsonic. My projector is mounted above my head in my great room, so it's within 5 feet of me, straight up, when I'm sitting down. The Viewsonic was loud and noticeable. This one, not at all. Even in dead silent parts of movies, the ambient noise of the house covers it up, even the small air purifier I have running in the great room. I hear the fan when I shut it down and it spins up faster to cool things down for a few seconds before power off, but that's about it. I've used this mostly on Cinema and Game mode, so maybe I just don't use a torch mode that gets it hot enough to be that loud. The picture is stunning. I know all about the "Faux 4" vs true 4k, and that this isn't true 4k, but to my non-videophile eyes I don't care. The first time I fired it up I was blown away just with how a normal 1080 source looked upscaled on it. When I dropped in a 4k UHD blu ray, I was completely thrilled... It's just amazing how much better this looks than my old 1080 projector, even though the lumen rating is considerably less (the Viewsonic had a 5200 lumen rating). I have no lag that I can tell whatsoever for games, so I am doing Destiny 2 on it currently and it's amazing. Gorgeous image, and it is amazing to play the games on a 125" screen at such high resolution. I have no issues with my setup, an Xbox One X at 4k, an Amazon Fire box at 4k, an Intel NUC media center PC at 4k, and the rest at 1080 - Wii-U, Nintendo Switch, PS3 and PS4. All play fine, and this has no issues jumping between 1080 and 4k. I did change out my 50' HDMI for a newer 18Gbps cable just to make sure I had the bandwidth needed, so I don't think I would've had the same result with the other cable, it was 12 months or more old. Cable was purchased here at Best Buy with the projector for cheaper than I could've picked it up on Amazon or Monprice, so I couldn't complain. Be aware that this ships in a normal brown cardboard box that looks like a shipping box, there is no other "product" box inside of it. Since there is a restocking fee for this, don't open that box up thinking you still have an unopened box inside. If you see the security tape, you know don't open this unless you really want to, otherwise you'll lose a few hundred bucks trying to return it. If you are in the market for a 4k projector (any projector, I wouldn't buy a 1080 model with these so cheap) then this is worth every penny. Sure, you can get "true 4k" for another 6 or 7 grand, but I just don't see how it could possibly be construed as worth it to spend that much money when this looks so stunning...

So, I upgrade from the LG PF1000UW. Granted that was a short-throw and this isn't. This projector is fantastic. I bought a 92" projection screen from Amazon for my bedroom. It's the largest I could squeeze. The 3000 ansi lumens on this allows me to have my bathroom light on and still have a fantastic picture. I sit about 12 feet away and the projector is overhead. I hear no fan from it even at 4K/HDR footage. The only other thing about this projector I would have love to see on it would have been 3D capabilities, but for being a budget 4K projector sub 10,000$ you get your bang for the buck. If you're looking at mounting, make sure your mount is M6 compatible. Let me tell you about this Optoma UHD60. Pros: 4K HDR 4K/60hz Sleep Timer Color Profiles Lighted controller crisp and clear picture HDR!!!!!!! Lightweight Cons: A bit bigger than other projectors. Missing 3D Capabilities No Keystone Adjustment

I wanted to upgrade from my 1080p projector to a 4K projector after going online to YouTube and reading all the good comments about the UHD60. I purchased one and just now hooked it up and was blown away by how amazing the quality of the picture. For the price I would strongly recommend this projector. One last thing if u do purchase this projector do not use a standard HDMI cable to connect to ur source equipment. Ull need to purchase an HDMI 4K cable that supports 18 GB to 22 GB myself I purchased a fiber HDMI cable, if u don't have this type of cable and u use a standard HDMI cable ull be outputting 1080 to ur display

Right out of the box, the UHD60 blew my mind! Granted I don't have a 4k source yet *cough* Xbox X *cough*. I upgraded from the HD141x and the difference is night and day. I actually had to turn the bulb down to ECO mode because it was so bright. There is hardly any ambient light in the room it's set up in so I'm sure that helped. If you have the $2000 to spend, I would definitely recommend you purchase this. The only downside is that you can't purchase an extended warranty through Optoma yet.

Image quality is amazing....too bad it didn't work in my room with the layout I wanted to use...there is very little wiggle room when it comes to where you set this projector up (at least as opposed to the Epson projectors). If you have exactly the sweet spot, though, this one would be great...just remember, there also is no keystone correction, so you would seriously have to have it in exactly the right spot with exactly the right screen size due to the limited zoom capability as well.

I have this projector for more than a month now and I have to say I am very impressed with it. I have been waiting for 4K projectors to become affordable and this one broke the barrier for me, if you are looking for 4K projector than this is your projector. In order to fully enjoy this projector you need to invest in some upgrades, get some good quality HDMI cables which can handle 18GBps bandwidth, and a good 4K DVD player with up scaling feature. You need to have a 4K video source in order to fully enjoy a 4K experience, in my case I did 2 things. 1) I hooked it to Sony - UBP-X800 which has 2 HDMI outputs, one you can run video directly to the projector and the other you can attach to the receiver for audio, in that way you can keep your old receiver even if it is not 4K compatible. Although I have a 4K receiver, I found that picture quality is best if you run video directly to the projector without passing it through receiver. (I could have let it pass through my receiver without processing but I choose not to) Since my DVD player upgrades everything to 4K I don't feel a need to buy 4K DVD's - although I have brought some 4K DVD's but I found that Blu-ray DVD's looks as good because of the up scaling feature in Sony is outstanding- I set mine to out put 4k/60 4:4:4. 2) All my non 4K video sources (Xbox 360, old model Xbox One, PS3 ect) are connected to a true 4K AV receiver which can up scale all Non 4K video to 4K video, if you are planning to buy one please make sure that it's a true 4K receiver which can up scale the video signal to 4K, the old 4K PASS THROUGH models WILL NOT up scale, they will just let the signal pass through without up scaling. The projector has 2 HDMI inputs, I attached one to Sony UBP-X800 and the other to 4K AV receiver. I am projecting it to a light gray wall - projector settings has option to choose where you are projecting including wall color and make adjustment accordingly. The biggest picture quality difference is noticeable in streaming (youtube/Netflix/Hulu ect) which I really enjoy now. It only has vertical image shift and no keystone correction that will require you to adjust projector position right in the center in order to align it to your satisfaction. Overall, I think it is a great projector for the price and we should thank Optoma for making 4K projectors affordable.

After owning an Epson 1080p projector for more than 5 years I was ready to upgrade to a sharper picture. I am not disappointed! The Optomo provides a very sharp picture with very black blacks. It is extremely quiet and starts quickly. I use this in a dark home theater so the low bulb setting works extremely well. I hope the bulb life promised actually materializes. Great value!

The Good : The Optoma UHD60 has excellent overall image quality with 4K resolution, solid contrast and accurate color. It's one of the least expensive projectors available for this level of quality. The Bad: Not all 4k signals are detected (Example: Roku) and project still not compatible with Logitech remote. The rainbow effect on this model is terrible. The overall quality minus that is actually top notch. If you are not susceptible to rainbows on DLP this is a must have. If you are, it’s a hard pass. The optical out only passes stereo audio. You need a 4k hdmi splitter to pass multichannel back to an older receiver.

This replaces a Viewsonic PRO8530HDL projector I've had for a few years. I loved that projector, although 1080p and designed more for a board room than a movie theater at home... But I had no issues with it, loved the physical construction of it, and used it for Xboxes, Playstations, my media center PC, my Amazon Fire box... Everything plugged into my receiver worked well with that projector. But everything I have now other than my PS3 and PS4 are 4k now, so I decided it was time to upgrade. This was the best option without having to spend far more money than I would ever play for home movie watching... Unboxing it, I was a bit disappointed in the physical construction. The Viewsonic had a gorgeous "tail end" that screwed over the back to completely hide any cables. That made it so much more visually appealing when hung in my great room. This one lacks that. The Viewsonic also had an easy focus and zoom knob, this one hides it under this real piece of junk "access door" that doesn't line up right, doesn't close right, and is about as poorly engineered as anything possibly could be short of some disgruntled employee sabotaging the design intentionally. You can adjust all, and when closing the door, move the projector from the force needed to shut it, and have to line it all up again. So once you get away from the physical issues I have with it, and get into the performance, it really shines. Fan noise level - I'm used to the Viewsonic, which was right above my head where I sat on the couch in the great room. It was so much louder. This, even when i was just testing it on a box on the couch, was nearly silent. When I have anything going through the Dolby Atmos surround system, you can't hear it even in the quiet moments of a movie. When in use, the fan is almost invariably low and silent. It speeds up after you turn it off, to cool it down for a few seconds. The sound level, there's just no comparison. It's not quite as bright since this has a few thousand lumens less rating, but that Viewsonic was designed for conference rooms and meetings. It may have been brighter, but it didn't do as well with colors. This just blows it out of the water for how nice the picture looks. I know this isn't true native 4k, it's a pixel shifting type of setup. But for this price point, it'll be a long time before we have true 4k. For me, I am not a videophile enough to care about the slight difference. Gaming, movies, my computer desktop, whatever it shows, it shows crisply, clearly. I'm in an upstairs great room that isn't set for darkness... I have blinds on one window on the side wall that are just sheer white, so that stays bright. I have a patio door on the back wall, with blinds that are purchased specifically for light blocking. But they aren't flush on the wall, so light comes around the edges, and the bottom where it sits about 1.5 inches off the floor. But the motorized screen drops right in front of the big bay window, so that helps as well to keep it dark enough even in the day for this to be seen. My universal mount fit it after I cut a couple of the arms shorter, but I had to get new screws to mount it - they don't include any screws. The remote is backlit, but it's backlit TOO MUCH. It's insanely bright for something designed to be used in a dark room. Fortunately I will be getting it set up on my Harmony remote so won't need to use this one for long. The annoying physical construction is really the only thing I can find to really complain about, and take a star off for. As far as the performance, it's a stunning picture at this price point. No reason not to grab one if you want a budget 4k projector.
