A new level of cooking!

To be completely honest and upfront, this is my first air fryer. WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING???? This product has opened up an entire new level of cooking for me. Fresh Vegetables? Check! French Fries? This is the only way! Garlic Bread? YEP! This is how I cook from now on.
Ok, now that my mind is blown, let me talk about this Oster Oven. First, it is a great size for a countertop. I had a previous countertop oven that had space for days, but the downside was that it took up all of my counter space. This Oster gives me enough room to cook most things that I would consider a small appliance for.
Second, it cooks very well. VERY WELL. I have not had any issues with getting a well cooked product out of this oven and getting them done in a timely fashion.
Third, this oven looks nice. Stainless will always be in and this product will match any stainless appliances you already have in your kitchen. And it will continue to look nice as it is very easy to clean.
Down side, the knobs and controls feel a little cheap on this oven. I don't really feel as if they are going to break off, but they just don't have that premium feel. Also, they are analog, which feels like an old school microwave. The counter top oven that this Oster replaced had digital times, a temperature probe, and other premium features for the same price point. I would like to see some of these incorporated into the next generation of this oven, but even without them, it does well.
This is a great small appliance for cooking all the things. ALL THE THINGS. it will do the job well and make everyone at your table happy. It would be nice if it had a few more features and a little more high end feel, but it still finds a home in my kitchen.

Great Countertop Oven with Awesome Air Fryer

The Oster countertop oven with air fryer is one great little machine. It can bake, toast, broil, warm, and best of all air fry. Like many countertop ovens, the Oster countertop oven does great with bake, broil, and toast options. So I will focus on the feature I have used the most, and that is the air fry. This oven can go up to 450 degrees and can air fry food in a fraction of the time of baking without the mess and unhealthiness of real frying. Frozen fries, tots, onion rings cook in 10 minutes or less and come out crispy like they were traditionally fried. Chicken nuggets and chicken wings, no problem. Crispy and perfect every time. The machine comes with a recipe book to try and of course you can find many air fry recipes on the web.
This machine does pretty much everything you could need in an oven and doesn't require you have a separate air fryer. Only downside/complaint of the machine is the loud ticking noise on the timer. When you set the timer, it ticks quite loudly as it winds down.

Works Great

The Oster Countertop over works as a toaster over, convection oven and an air fryer. The oven has a fairly small footprint on the counter and takes the place of 2 appliances, which we definitely liked. A big plus for us was the ease of use. You choose what setting, temp and time. That’s it. Very simple. The only thing we would have liked to see was a light inside so you can see how done the food is.
We tested the oven as an air fryer by making tater tots. They cooked quicker than our big oven and they were crisper, so it was definitely a win. We tried cheese sticks on the convection oven and air fryer. They were crisper using the convection oven and very little cheese came out of them. Using the air fryer they were ok, but more cheese melted out and they weren’t as crisp. Bottom line, if you stay with the products that traditional do well in an oven or air fryer you can’t go wrong. Great appliance from a great company.

So, maybe you'll still need your over, but you won't use it nearly as much. The Oster Countertop Oven lets you make just about anything you can make in an oven, but heats up faster and uses less energy. We've used it to make cookies, cakes, baked potatoes (the 60 minute timer is perfect), cupcakes, etc. It's the perfect size for making bread, so that's next.
It's even better than a microwave for warming things up, especially when you need crispness. It works great for up to 4 slices of toast, as well. We really like the air fry feature for making fries. It uses less oil and the fries taste great!
The Oster Countertop Oven if a great use of counter space. You'll love it.

Very disappointed this arrived with a badly damaged box and the unit was also damaged The handle was crushed, when I started to check it out. After seeing the handle crushed and sharp edges, I just packed it back up. Sadly will be returning after Christmas. I got it on sale and used some of reward dollars to get, hoping they give back my reward dollars.

I'm glad they went with counter top oven instead of "toaster oven" because this oven is in a class way above a toaster oven. Now, if you wanna make toast, go right ahead but you'll be missing all the other good stuff.
First thing I noticed was the weight of the Oster Countertop Oven. For it's puny size it packs in some pounds. All that weight isn't just in the fans and heating elements, but also in the insulation. On a typical toaster oven, anything that gets stored on top of the oven (usually extra pans and such) turn out as scorching hot as what's cooking on the inside. Oster insulated this as tight as a full size oven. Now there will be leaks and if given enough time, could scorch utensils laying on top. But in typical 20-30 minute uses it's not too bad. I even picked it up after using it for 15 minutes without problems. There were a few hot spots, but nothing that would cause a blister.
There's plenty of room in the oven also. So much that you can put 3 full doses of french fries at a time - if you love fries like it do it's doses, not servings! I followed the instructions and hit at 400 for 20 and it was near perfect. Now you'll never get the full flavor of deep frying but this is quicker and way less messy. Just pull out the frying mesh tray and the drip tray for cleaning and you're done.
I used this toaster for reheat meals all week and it's not let me down yet. Lasagna, Sub, Collard Greens and Mac n Cheese, Pizza, etc. Depending on the meal I opted for different settings. The greens and mac n cheese I didn't use convection because I didn't want to dry out the outer parts before the insides got warmed. Convection for the sub to crisp up the bread and so on.
This oven deserves to be called one. I won't be surprised if you see your full oven get less use after getting one of these.

This is a great countertop oven! Set up out of the box was easy, just plug it in and start. The size is good if you have enough countertop space, it is a bit large.
The countertop oven is great for cooking small items, you dont have to start your large oven. The oven is large enough to cook a 12 inch pizza pie. The air fryer feature is amazing, you can fry a small chicken.
Overall, highly recommend this countertop oven air fryer. Its versatile and does not take up that much counter space. If you can bring to the dorm this would be a great appliance to have in college.

Cooks quickly without all the oil

We've pretty much been able to cook using nothing but this oven the entire week. From small batches of buffalo wings to tater tots to small pizzas, we have not had to fire up the big stove at all this week, which means not generating all the heat in the kitchen for the A/C to have to compete with.
The air fryer function is fantastic - just a small sprtiz of vegetable oil and french fries come out nice and crispy, as do nuggets and anything else that would traditionally be cooked in a deep fryer.
A great addition to any kitchen!

OSTER Countertop Oven w/Air Fryer 2 Multi-task
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This OSTER Countertop Oven is a super user friendly multi-tasker!
My oven failed and I had a 6lb chicken that needed to be cooked immediately or become garbage if left another day. Since I couldn’t fire up the large oven, I took the Oster promise seriously that the unit can thoroughly cook a whole chicken to the core without cutting and without drying out.
Really way too late in the evening, I stuffed garlic, rosemary, thyme under the skin of the carcass then, inside and out, I rubbed the chicken with the spice blend. So, the fats would drop into the tray, I sat it on the footed wire rack.
To roast, my initial guidance on temperature and time came from the wrapping. So, I started using the BAKE option at 350 degrees then realized that I needed to compress the cooking time because for 6 lbs @ 20 minutes per pound the chicken required over 1.5 hrs to cook.
Since the OSTER manual states that its CONVECTION setting cuts cooking time by 30%, I decided to switch settings mid-stream. I also wanted to get a golden hue; so, I coated the skin with Manuka honey and took my chances with a reboot, especially since 9p was upon me and my guy was not satisfied with salad for dinner and was anxiously awaiting the outcome.
Thankfully, the CONVECTION ramped up the heat and got the chicken’s plastic thermometer to pop within minutes, indicating internal temp reached for properly DONE!
In spite of my wildcard pivot, the outcome was a golden brown skin with a super juicy and tender interior. The visual inspired involuntary mouthwatering, rivalling the hot case roasts at Whole Foods.
First, second and third bites confirmed we had a winner better than store bought, even without the recommended ‘rest time’. (The impatient meat eater would not be restrained.)
With a large cut of meat, not sure why I would choose to roast via the BAKE setting in the future. To get large meats and poultry cooked in less time, I will choose CONVECTION in the future to reduce cook time by 30% as promised.
When not pressed for time, BAKE may be best for those doing meats, poultry, fish, breads, brownies, etc (I will never have that basis for comparison since those flour based items are now out of my glycemic wheel house.)
For a side to the ‘roasted’ chicken, I cajun-spiced a mess of white sweet potato wedges with less than a teaspoon of grapeseed oil.
The OSTER affords a large flat tray so minimal (if any) turning is required unlike the bin design of my old air fryer design that requires turning to get an even crisp.
In 20 minutes at the AIR FRY setting, I had a perfect batch.
The AIR FRY setting has made me a devotee of the char grilled or roasted flavor profile bestowed upon the lowly vegetable.
Now home cooks can without muss and fuss achieve the results of a restaurant’s open hearth without the high cost of dining out and, now during Covid, without the risk of dining out.
To eliminate diabetes and lose weight, I had forsaken frying years ago but now I am thrilled to get a crunchy texture and/or high savory hit on the palate without ruining weight loss success.
Though steamed and sauteed veggies are great, AIR FRY tech puts quick’n easy “decadent” into the gastronomic equation.
Next day, another challenge eliminated time for a relaxed chicken stuffed frittata. Instead, we did the TOAST setting for cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread sandwiches with crunchy almond butter, sliced banana, TJs berry jam, shaved coconut and cocoa nibs.
For dinner, a Barramundi steak got the BROIL setting: sliced onions, garlic, fresh dill, chopped ginger and a squirt of lemon for 7 minutes on the footed rack without a turn, affording a perfect center piece for mounded garlicky asparagus with shaved pecorino done to crunchy on AIR FRY @ 6 minutes.
So, rave reviews for all settings: BAKE, CONVECTION, AIR FRY, TOAST and BROIL.
Set across the top of a stylish stainless steel unit are three easy-to-read and easy-to-turn knobs: SETTINGS, TEMPERATURE (up to 450 degrees) and TIME. As noted in the manual, remember to turn the timer past 20 minutes then turn back to any time desired less than 20 minutes.
The crumb tray slides out without resistance for a quick clean up.
Two rails provide a variety of heights for a collection of three racks to satisfy a multitude of cooking intentions.
The unit at ~15”x16”x16” can be moved without a big effort.
The OSTER freed up counter space by replacing two appliances.
And, when my large oven is repaired, I will have layers of options to multi-task for large gatherings.
Though the unit is user friendly and intuitive, be smart.
FIRST read the manual then explore the Air Fry Cooking and Troubleshooting Charts.
If an extension to the 24” cord with grounded plug is required, properly match the gauge of the cord to the load required by the unit, paying special attention not to overload outlets.

Great space saving air fryer/oven combo

I was pleasantly surprised by this air fryer/oven. I already owned a standalone air fryer that I sat next to my toaster oven, but it is no longer needed thanks to Oster. I prefer the taste and crispness when air frying with the Oster versus my standalone. I tested it out with frozen chicken fries and French fries and it did a fantastic job. With regards to the other oven features, it did what it was supposed to. I had no issue with toast, crescent rolls, frozen Salisbury steak, etc. Overall, it is easy to use. Three nobs control all settings. When I bought my previous countertop oven, I thought it was cool that there were so many buttons/knobs/options. However, I now realize that more is not always better and just going with a simplistic setup is good enough for most people. As far as the looks of the Oster, I find it appealing and fits well with if you own other stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. I recommend this to anyone in the market for both an air fryer and oven and want to condense space on their countertops.

This little oven does a GREAT air frying and reheating in exactly the time and temps in the instructions. I cooked hand cut fries, Brussels Sprouts, bacon, and reheated fried squash, and a steak and cheese sandwich. I did not adjust anything at all—cooked to the recommendation sheet included in the box. All turned out perfectly. I kept waiting for something to be wrong, some weakness. None. The only thing I do not love about it is the timer—it’s a dial you have to turn past 20 minutes then back to your desired time, and it ticks the whole time. Small short coming for an appliance that works so flawlessly. If you have used bin air fryers in the past—you will not again. Those come nowhere close to the even cooking a hieved with the toaster oven form factor. I fried bacon. Perfectly!! Cleaning is a breeze, put foil under the basket and throw it away after cooking. Spray out the basket. Done. For this price point, this little guy is spot on.
