That was until the second time she used it. It literally severed the neck of the wine bottle - snapped it right off. Hopefully, it was a fluke, since she's not the only one who received that "cool" gift from me.

Does not remove cork

Then when you switch the button to pull the cork out, the corkscrew tears up and out of the cork, but leaves the cork in the bottle. So you have a torn up cork that is ruined, yet still in the bottle.

Perfect size and performance

This one is better. It takes less space on the counter and is a little smaller to hold allowing easier use. I really like that the base holds the foil cutter and is easy to remove. Inexpensive and easy to use--buy it!

Last week, we had about twenty women over for wine night, and several commented they have the same opener, but never use it because they couldn't figure it out! I did a demo for them and now everyone loves their wine openers. The trick is that you push the DOWN button the entire time until the cork is completely free of the bottle. Then push the UP button to until the cork spits out. Easy peasy, and it DOES come with a foil cutter!!
