Not the Typical Otterbox Quality

Hard plastic is thinner. The two-piece design of polycarb+silicone does not snap together very easily like other two-piece plastic cases I’ve owned. Also, the hard plastic piece right around the charge port is clunky and does not allow a good connection to a third-party charging cable - it seems like the case was designed with only the Apple OEM cable in mind... which we al know everyone uses Amazon third-party charging cables. So you have to cut this part of the case off. The case also doesn’t provide much grip when holding the back.

My only complaint on this case is less than a year after use, the port cover torn off. It seems like there's a low limit to how many times you can take the port cover on and off before the thin piece of rubber holding the cover to the case tears and then falls off easily. Good thing the SE is IPX67, but I wouldn't push it as over time it won't keep out water. For the price, I'd get something else. The premium costs to buy the otterbox brand vs other cases isn't worth it to me.

While that Commuter Series case is tough, none of our OtterBox cases are designed to be waterproof, so even when that port cover is brand new, it should not be used to protect your device from water.
