This is my 3rd Otterbox Commuter, they have made improvements for the Iphone 7 case. This version has ridges on the side that make it easier to grip and the materials used seem softer. Except for water / sand, this case will protect your phone from all other perils without any loss in call quality (some other cases w/ more protection make it difficult to hear the caller)

At first when my mother asked me to get her the commuter series case instead of the defender series I was a bit skeptical. Having had it over a month now i have heard nothing but good things from her about the case. Still extremely durable, but a bit better for her hand size. Considering she likely won't be deep sea fishing or diving anytime soon I believe this will work just fine.

My prior phone was an iPhone 5s and I was using an Otterbox Defender. That was a nice case but really bulky. This case is very similar but in a much slimmer form factor. It doesn't make the phone that much bigger than my last and the iPhone 7 itself is far bigger than the 5s. I love the case and will definitely keep using this version on future phones so long as it is available.
