    This case is similar to a Speck case that I had on my I-phone 5s. It is durable and protects the buttons well. You'll have to pair it with a screen protector. Therefore, it will cost more than a Defender. However, it will be less bulky and water & dust will not get between the screen and plastic like what can happen with a Defender.

    I have had multiple types of cell phone cases over the past 10 years, but nothing is built and designed better than the OtterBox case. My current case is the Commuter Series which is perfect for a day to day commuter. It fits my iPhone 7 Plus perfectly, and none of the ports, speakers, or buttons are blocked or affected by the case cover.

    As with all Otterbox products, this phone case is very good. It it easy to put on and remove from the phone and provides protection to the whole phone, including the screen. Although it does not have a covering over the screen, the raised rubber edges around the screen prevent the screen from touching the table when it is placed face down.

    I've owned the Otterbox Defender but thought I would switch to the Commuter case because the screen on the Defender interfered with the finger print recognition. I had a Zagg screen protector applied to my iPhone and the combination with the screen gives me full protection. I've dropped my phone a few times and it was protected superbly.
