I purchased the Commuter model as well as the Otterbox Defender, since the differences were unclear to me both here and on the Otterbox site. The Commuter is slightly thinner, but seems to offer significantly less protection than the Defender, so I returned this time. On clearance, they were pretty much the same price.

This is a great alternative to a defender case if you are one who is careful with your phone. Used in concert with a Zagg screen protector, even drops from a lower height and/or on a soft surface preserve the phone.

I think the color options are good, the materials used and design make the protective cover easily useful and sturdy at the same time. I'm the type of person who is always on the go and need and use my phone constantly being in the construction business and I'm very happy with the performance and functionality of the product.

We bought two of these. This product is made very well, durable and the pricing is very favorable, especially if it saves you the cost of cell phone insurance or even worse the cost of s replacement phone.

Hard shell doesn't stay on correctLy. It doesn't stay on the case very well

The otterbox is the best product to protect your valuables. I have them on my phones and ipads. I wouldn't trust another product with my electrics.

I had it for less than a month before the plastic snapped. I had just been putting it into and pulling it out of my pocket, without any abuse whatsoever! It was defective and I consider it to also be a design flaw with where it broke and how it broke so easily. I was on travel for the holidays when it broke and couldn't get to the receipt until after the 30 days. I contacted OtterBox customer service directly, filed a warranty claim, and requested a refund. They wanted to send a replacement at first, and I explained why I wanted a refund instead because I didn't want the same problem all over again in another month. They responded with a generic claim denied email that was inaccurate on stating my claim was not covered under it being defective. This is a terrible product design from an even worse company! Don't buy anything OtterBox.

Always wanted the iPhone and then when I compared pricing (very close) and the photo options, I wanted the Samsung and I am so glad I got it. The photos are crystal clear and easy to take.
