Although the case may seem thin, we've thoroughly drop tested and confirmed the Commuter Series offers a DRIOP+ rating 3X the military standard (MIL-STD-810G 516.6). Flap a waste

Had a similar case several years ago and the flap tore off. Otherwise, the Otterbox was fine.

If this feature is bothersome and prevents you from being able to fully enjoy the case, we do have the Symmetry Series option as well, which does not have a charge port cover.
