    The item had a hard shell that protects the phone from falls. The lightly weighted corner pieces ensure the phone hits a corner which is padded rather than landing face down on the screen. The raised edges also protect the screen. There is a water blockage flap that adds to phone protection as well. In the rear of the shell the edges are raised to protect the camera which appears recessed into the shell, however camera function is not impacted at all.

    Much better case than I anticipated. I've dropped the phone more times than I should have, and this case has fully protected the phone with no visible damage to either the case or the phone. Make sure you get a good screen shield. I did drop it on a rock once and I thought the screen was broken but when I removed the screen protector, the screen was not broken, only the protector which was replaced under warranty. I love my case!
