I’m clumsy what can I say. My Otterbox for my old iPad mini was waaaaaay better than this one. This one doesn’t quite seal up right, the back is flimsy and keeps sliding open. Does not stand up right with the stand. Have to remove the clip on stand to open the charge port spot. Would NOT recommend. They need a redo for this one. Back to the drawing board guys.

Horrible case

Secondly when you have it setup with the guard piece on top it practically makes the camera useless. Thirdly, it’s supposed to sit in the second piece as a stand, but if it’s not perfectly in there then it’s crooked. So to use this device on the go and traveling around town taking notes for my job or fixing things on the fly it’s extremely impractical. You have this ridiculous cover that’s probably close to an inch thick, that has to be removed and clipped onto the back of it. Extremely annoying if you just need to take a quick picture or not about something and if you don’t clip the ridiculous piece onto the back then you’ll have to hold it along with your iPad…awkward. Also, no screen protector. Again, need both pieces to stand the iPad up…just dumb. I’m not really sure who this was made for, a light user who only uses it at home maybe with the occasional outing, that’s my only guess. There’s a limit between full armor tank and mobility/usability. That’s not available here. You got a tank and that’s it. WAY BETTER options for less. Another note: Apparently it’s not that good at protection either, ( just off corner drops, will leave a broken screen. That’s from a place I went to get my phone screen replaced at. PS: I bought this case without even looking at it. Said OtterBox on it and I just assumed it would be good. Off topic, but BEST BUY followed me around instead of asking me if I needed anything because I couldn’t find the case. Won’t be back again.

It is cheap plastic and more than likely would cause damage to your tablet in the long run. It is but cheap plastic that would not protect your tablet. Please get another brand. No I do not recommend this. Save your money.

Very disappointing - no longer waterproof
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't understand why Otterbox kept the model name Defender and drastically changed the capabilities by removing the top screen protector layer, rendering the case no longer waterproof. The "case acts as a screen protector" almost seems intentionally deceptive. This was my 6th Otterbox defender for myself, kids, and mother-in-law, but it's going back to the store. Very, very sad.

That being said, our tests have shown that this case provides the same level of drop protection as past Defender Series cases. Poorly Engineered

Purchased my first Otterbox for IPad Gen 6 and no instructions for first time user. Rubber backing was lose out of the box, but I assumed it was installation issue. After others users explained it was quality control issue and they suggested using duct tape which I did. The duct tape gets a lot of attention, hopefully Otterbox will will get the message and improve quality control for a top priced item.

Major complaints, pen flap is a weak point and freaks and shifts. I can live with it. What I can’t live with is the rubber flap on the back being so floppy. Unless you are dust connoisseur you will not want this case. Does it look good? Yes. Is it poorly designed? Yes. Is it worth the money? Hard no. Unfortunately until someone out does otterbox or otterbox fixes this mistake of a case, this is what we get.
