My daughter dropped it from waist height (she’s 5) and the screen cracked. Bought another case made from high dense foam for $20 that works way better.

So I don’t think that I would recommend it. It was expensive to not protect the iPad.

Not worth the price

As others have mentioned: the slot for the Apple Pencil comes off easily but id think and it seems that your iPad will still be secure. Hopefully so. Otherwise I recommend otterbox cases to all.

Not water resistant: somewhat rugged but heavy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: Very rugged, not water resistant, flimsy side panel for Apple Pencil. Only recommend heavily discounted. Not water resistant (as I had hoped), something especially important if you're using your iPad in the field as a rugged laptop/ tablet (as I like to). Door on the side of the case for the Apple Pencil is very flimsy and falls off to the point that its better to just keep it off. (I use the gen 2 Logitech crayon for battery durability so there's no place to put it anyway). The original design of the product clearly wasn't intended for the new generation of iPads and needs a total refresh. Rubber protection will definitely defend it from drops and is very rugged in that sense. However it makes the case incredibly heavy, which is a tradeoff to consider for backpacking.
