I think most people know about this. I do wish the version with a screen protector was accessible. It seems to me that dust is better controlled with one. A redundant screen protector could still be used in addition. I guess I should subtract a star. This type of "selective availability " is designed to ensure buying of more products to provide complete protection. (MHO).
