I'm torn. There is no case more protective and durable against drops and bends but this one has issues I've not seen in other otter box cases. The condensation creeps under the screen protector so I had to open it to clean it. You can't remove it without a screw driver and the screwdriver scratched my day old phone. In the end I cut two of the tabs off so I would be able to open it without a metal object and I removed the screen protector and replaced it with had glass. That resolves the issues I had but I still have a brand new scratched phone and that is irritating.

I bought this to protect my phone from scratches as well as keep it intact in case it is dropped. It has done that. Unfortunately, annoying little bits of fuzz have still managed to get under the protective screen.

Great protection, just a little pricey............

This is my 2nd Otterbox Defender. I had to replace the first one because the covers for the access ports wore out and tore off from opening/closing them to charge, insert headphone jack, etc. However, it is a great case! My phone was run over on a busy street after falling off the tailgate of my truck and sustained ZERO damage. I wiped the tire track marks off the phone and it was good as new! You can't ask for better protection! My only complaint about the new design of the iphone 5S case is that they have replaced the rubber cover for the home button cover with only the clear screen protector. This will allow condensation, moisture, sand, etc to get between the screen protector and the glass. Other than that, I have no complaints.

A gift for a teenage boy this product holds up well.

I love this phone case! I've used phone cases by Speck for years but my last one cracked within a year. I have honestly never dropped my phone so it's disappointing that it broke. Otterbox is much stronger and better-built than other cases I've looked at. I'm definitely sticking with Otterbox cases from now on

Works as advertised. The only thing they could improve is the documentation. It wasn't obvious how to get my phone in the box. The customer service provided excellent walkthrough support.

I have had 3 iPhones and every time I buy otter box my phone has never suffered just the case thank you otter box

I have used Otterbox for years and have not had an issue of breakage with my phones. I would like to attribute that to the case. I bought this case for my son to make sure we could say the same for him!

I've already broken my screen and had water damage on my phone. I can't belive I hadn't purchased this sooner.

I purchased the Otter box Defender when I purchased my new IPhone 5. It seemed basic, but effective in what it is suppose to do. Since, my pulse rate doesn't soar to 160 each time I accidentally drop my phone. I get many comments on it, being told it is the best case made. I actually was questioned, (by more than one), why I purchased the extended warranty for the phone, being told nothing will ever happen with this case surrounding it. I just shake my head, and confess to being...just a stupid man.

I have used this style for years ... I am rough on the cases doing outdoor work and over time the plastic breaks and I need to replace. This is more than normal wear and tear and I am pleased with how long they do last. I recommend this style case if you need to protect your phone...I've never had a cracked screen and dropped it many a time. This case will help me hang on to my phone and save the money on purchasing a new phone.

Perfect fit and doesn't interfere with functions. Even with a young toddler often playing with my phone, keeps my phone safe.

Got this case to protect my wife's IPhone. So far it has worked very well. Is is durable and it does not limit the performance of the phone. I have not tested the durability of the case, but it seems that is appropriately protects the phone. It is not very stylish, but that is not what we purchased it for. So far, I am very happy with this case. Fortunately we have not yet had any incidents which would allow be to better comment on the durability of the case. I would purchase one of these again.
