As soon as I opened it up i noted folded and wrapped interior packaging etc. Looking at it and trying to insert my iPad it was so huge and roughy made that I returned it.

If the Defender was a bit too bulky for your comfort level then maybe the Symmetry would be a better fit. It is a little slimmer than the Defender and it still offers great protection. We truly put forth every effort to ensure that our products provide the best device protection possible, but unfortunately, every drop is subject to myriad different variables, some of which are beyond our control. In the end, we are unable to guarantee that absolutely all risks are avoided through the use of our cases.
Although our warranty does not extend to the Apple product itself, we would very much like to send you a brand-new OtterBox in the event that your current one was somehow jeopardized during the incident. It was a little hard to take apart initially, the silicone wrap was very hard to take off, but that's ok, now that it's on the iPad I'm confident it won't come off. I LOVE that it has a stand built into the back case and that you can position the iPad multiple ways- very handy! It does add a bit of bulk but I usually just take the back case off when I'm using the iPad and snap it on when I'm done. It's very well made, all the little port covers line up perfectly and the whole thing feels very secure. Highly recommended!

Uh oh, sounds like there was a bit of a miscommunication regarding our iPad mini Defender series, and we apologize for the confusion! Unfortunately, we do not consider this case to be compatible with the iPad mini 4. The fourth generation of the iPad mini was different enough from its predecessors that we ended up making a whole new case for it. The good news is that it looks like Best Buy carries the Defender case for the iPad mini 4, and you can check it out by following the link below! Only downside is that is sometimes hard to get rubber flap open to access charge input since it is so close to the edge of this protective case.
