Holds up under almost everything. Getting run over by a car was its limit for me.

This case does a great job of protecting my phone. It case stays in place. The rubbery like cover grips well and keeps the phone from sliding off objects.

I'm about as hard on phones as anyone I know and this is my second of the Otterbox Defenders for the iPh5s. First one lasted about 3 years and only recently was having issues with the rubber skin getting damaged. The screen protector is good but tends to give trouble when stuff gets under it - necessitating a takeapart to clean. The new design doesn't cover the fingerprint sensor which is very nice. Only real drawback is it's big and the rubber skin is kinda sticky and hard to get out of your pocket. I'd recommend it to anyone that needs a tough case.

I bought this case because if I was going to spend $300 on a new iPhone 5s I was going to make sure it lasted a few years. I'm pretty happy with the feel and ruggedness of this case but it does feel bulky which in counterproductive to why you buy the iPhone. But with the case included I'm still glad I bought it. It was more expensive than I wanted to pay but I'm pretty confident it will last a long time. The only drawbacks are it is not waterproof and even water resistant. There are open parts that if dropped in water for even a few seconds it may still allow water into the phone. Also it is a bit difficult to place into the belt clip, but if you look on the positive side I guess you could say it will stay secured in the clip. Assembling the case onto the phone was also a task but once completed it fits very well. All in all, a secure protective (non-waterproof) case.

This Defender Otterbox case is fantastic! I am replacing an old Otterbox that had a hard plastic case around the outside. After years of different drops, it broke enough that I needed to replace it. The new one has a rubberized shell that will not break like that and it comes with a clear plastic cover to help protect the screen from scratches. The only drawback is that you have to press a little firmer or longer on buttons and screen swiping due to the thickness of the clear plastic protector.

As I work in the motor pool, this case has saved my phone numerous times.
