I got tired of spending $80 a pop for LifeProof cases that kept falling apart, so decided to "downgrade" to the Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone 5S. At less than half the price, I must say I haven't been disappointed in the least. This is a sturdy case with a good built-in screen protector that does a great job of protecting my phone from damage. The only advantage to the LifeProof case is that it's water-proof, which is important to me since I have a pool and my phone has been accidentally submerged in it. But if I'm in the least bit careful, this won't be an issue. I realize that Otterbox owns LifeProof, btw, but that did not factor into my decision.

I used to have this case for my iPhone 4s & when I switched to the iPhone 5, I couldn't wait to get the same case! The problem was that I couldn't find it anywhere except the Otter Box website (where it was super expensive). I checked out the Best Buy stores in my city & they didn't have them either. However, one of the associates told me to check online, so when I got home I jumped on the internet & found this case on BestBuy.com & couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price! It was only HALF of what Otter Box cases are normally! I thought it was a fluke, so I went through the checkout process & IT WAS REAL!!!!! I was so ecstatic that I told everyone! This was the perfect case at the perfect price!!!!!

I really like Otterbox. They have protected my last two phones. When I take the Otterbox off the phones look brand new. When I purchased this box there was not a waterproof version or many color options which would have been nice. Despite the limited options at the time of purchase this is a very high quality case.

I bought the otter box for my new iPhone 5 about a month ago. It is easy to assemble and completely surrounds the phone. It even covers the buttons and ports. I just don't know why they have to be so expensive.

This case is pretty simple in how it completely protects your phone from top to bottom as opposed to many "sleeve" style cases that act as just a shell leaving the screen not too far from the case edge. This case is what I would call overboard in how it completely locks your case from the outside world. The case has a screen protector built in and a two part plastic locking shell and rubber sleeve. It encloses it and makes your phone look like a brick. This case is for those that want to be able to drop their phone and not feel any concern. This case does that. A final note on the included belt clip to hold the phone in. I personally don't find it useful as it was awkward taking the phone out of it. However, some working men or women may find it helpful. I would say though, that there is nothing fashionable about the clip and the case itself is for the security minded, not the style.

if you know that you work in a hostile environment you should buy a case like this one to protect your phone. it has save my phone so many times is worth spending a few extra bucks.

This is a nice looking case for my phone. It offers good protection without being too bulky, and the price was right. The screen protector shows some bubbles but does not affect the view or function.

Have iPhone inside and the case fits snug. A little difficult to disassemble for cleaning but you know the phone is safe inside. I like the color too…makes it stand out from everyone else's black cases.

Ok, yes to good protection against bumps and dings. But, no protection against water immersion. I've had compliments on it but what I like the most is that my hand easily grips it. It's not too small.

This case gives great protection to my phone. It is still easy to use all the buttons and ports on the phone. I'm hard on phones and cases but so far this one hasn't let me down.
