So when the time came to upgrade to a new phone, I purchased another defender. Unfortunately a few things had changed, the rubbery outer casing has been replace with a different kind of material that is slicker. I also have problems with the plastic bubble over the home button puffing up and messing with touch ID.

Sorry to hear that this Defender series isn't entirely matching up to the expectations set by your previous OtterBox! As new devices are released, we tend to update and streamline our case designs accordingly, which is why the rubber silicone might have a different feel this time around.
