We're so sorry that the Defender and your iPhone 8 Plus are not a perfect match! This is odd, as the case is supposed to be compatible with both the iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 8 Plus. Sounds like there could possibly be a misalignment or installation issue going on, so please don't hesitate to ring up our analytical Otters at 1-855-688-7269. I tried Lifeproof and the power cord cover ripped. The only problem with the Defender is how heavy it is with larger phones like Apple iPhone 7 plus. I traded it for an Otterbox without the screen protector and instead bought an Otterbox Commuter case with a Zagg face cover from Best Buy. Much lighter!
