The Otterbox Defender case is very robust and offer the best protection for your mobile device. It completely surrounds the unit including the screen and greatly reduces damage from drops, rain, and other hazards. The device is easier to hold and feels more secure in your hand. Downside is that one has to choose between protecting the device or the beauty of Apple's compact design.

A case is a must for all iPods I believe. We purchased an iPod previously for our son and didn't have a case on it. Within the first month it was cracked. I have kept cases on all my Apple products and they don't so much as have a single scratch on them. So even though the kiddos may not want to put a case on- Make them!! Otterbox cases are very durable and do their job well.

I purchased this for my grandson who is 10 yrs old for his I-Touch that I got him for Christmas. It has protected it so far from a couple drops, is great looking, and was a plus to have screen protected as part of case. I had purchased a case online to begin with and when it came was so light weight and cheaply made. Spend the money to begin with and purchase this case.

I recently purchased a 128 Gb iPod Touch and I wanted to get a case to protect the device. Cases for the iPod Touch are becoming harder to find and this case was available for purchase. The case provides excellent protection for the device and my only irritation is not all charging cables will fit into the device with the case on the device.

The OtterBox protective case is an excellent choice. I like the outside because of the nonslip grip. It stays put on the surface you lay it down on. I also like the small carrying strap that is attached. It is not water proof, but it does have a screen protector, it is protected from short drops, and it is splash resistant. I would recommend this case.

I bought a new iPOD and this box was purchased because I am a clutz. I've had otter box for my phones, dropped them, and had no damage a couple of times. It was easy to fit my phone into. Otter Box makes several similar products. I have a large waterproof Otter Box for my keys, driver license, etc. when I go canoeing. This brand is right on.

It survived a rough and tumble kid for a year, with 0 damage to the iPod through many falls, drops and what should have been an electrics graveyard. At the year mark the rubber started to peel a bit but that's probably more the kid than the product.
