Installed it and then realized that the screen cover muted my touch and I had to repeatedly tap to finally get it to register. So I removed the screen portion and it works good now. The cost is high after paying so much for the iPod.

We sincerely apologize that this Defender series was having trouble with touch sensitivity! This definitely is not typical of the product, since normally that screen protector sits flush against the phone display. For future reference, had you contacted us, we would have loved to help with a warranty claim. As it is, taking off any crucial parts of the case can void the warranty, but we’re sure that in this instance, our friendly Otters may be able to make an exception. We don't normally recommend removing any part of the unit, since the Defender case is intentionally built to provide the best protection possible.
