Let me start by saying that I have used otterbox defender cases for a very long time. I have ipad case, 3 iphone cases, and LG G4, Galaxy S6 and most recently my Galaxy S7 edge. So being an otterbox fanboy and being familiar with their unsurpassed quality I went ahead and bought a defender for my Galaxy S8. Saying that I was disappointing is an understatement. First of all otterbox did the same thing with the screen protector that apple did with the headphone jack, they dumped it. So now, I have a defender case without a screen protector, for the same price as I paid for my S7 edge case with screen protector. So I have to spend extra money for a screen protector. Second, the holster does not hold the phone (in the case) very well. My S7 edge holster held the case like an iron jaw, but the S8 holster holds the case very lightely and I am convinced that it will fall out when I walk.

Case fits great around the phone without adding too much bulk. Protects the infinity screen well.

This case is sleek and tough looking but after a small 2 foot drop, my S8's screen is cracked. What does a $40 case get you as far as a warranty? Nothing, because the case itself is fine, forget about the valuable phone it didn't protect. I will not buy another, instead spend $4 on a case from Amazon.

This is a very high quality case and I'm happy with the purchase.. The installation directions are horrible. It costs way too much but the alternatives are virtually nonexistent at this point.

Have been using otter box now for 4 years, great company customers service great, no hassle replacement of broken parts and now this new cover for S8 is just as good.

I think you should always get the best products for your money and best buy has all the best stuff.

I liked this case when I bought it but, now, after 4 days of use, I believe my phone in the shell is not secure in the clip. I use my phone to review documents while doing field work, so I need to have it easily accessible while hiking and wearing a day pack. The day after I bought the phone, my day pack knocked my phone out of the clip and it fell to the ground. Twice since then, the phone was knocked out of the case by the steering wheel while getting out of my truck. Now I feel I have to carry my phone zipped up in my day pack, which renders it useless in the field. I will be replacing this case if I can find something better.

My first Otterbox and it was horrible. The case covered the phone fine but I use the holster quiet a bit including on bumpy bike rides through the city. It dropped my phone on the first day and several times thereafter!! I replaced it with a Platinum holster and case which works so much better. Dump this overprices useless piece of plastic...it will eventually break your phone!!

I used to think Otterbox was a good brand, but they really messed up with this case. I totally regret wasting money on it. When I needed the case to protect my phone from a fall, the case did not deliver. I accidentally let my phone fall with out having the holster on and my screen broke. I used an Otterbox case on my Lg G4 and it worked fine, but when it comes to the S8 the protection is totally different. Otterbox should really make sure their cases can actually protect the phone before claiming their cases have"certified drop protection".

After 10 years of being an Otterbox user, I am extremely disappointed with the current product. Purchase a new cell phone in December, dropped my phone on Wednesday, and it shattered my screen. I think it's the impact of the case causing the failure.

No screen protection. Useless. Returned in the same day.
