In my opinion no research was necessary in my decision to purchase an Otterbox Defender for my new Galaxy 8s+. My last Defender case for my Galaxy 5s was dependable. One never knows what life has planned. Accidents happen and dropping your phone works into it here and there. When the inevitable would happen the screen was undamaged, no marks, or even the slightest scratch.

Always purchase otter phone protectors for my husband who works construction . Fits perfectly and always protects.

Otter box cases are top when protection is required. Bulky for sure.

I've used this case for several months and is really great. It's not just for a decorative case but it gives the phone protection from drops. The case is cushioned. All the buttons and ports are easily accessible. It has a cover over the charging port to protect it from getting wet. The only negative is that it doesn't have a kick stand.

Great case with nice clip/stand. Due to the curved edge screen it seems most cases do not have a screen protector. Having tried a cheaper glass protector may have been the issue but the case seems to be right on the edge of the protector and squeezes it which appears to deform and lift the sides. Edge response seems degraded and gaps at corners let in dust. I will be trying OtterBox's glass protector and hopefully they fit together a little bit better.

Truly hard to write a review on a case has never been dropped so I really can't tell you how well protects the phone. However with the phone in the case it feels very comfortable in the hand. The only thing but I don't like about this case is it does not come with a built-in screen protector. But other than that my wife loves this case would buy again.
