Otter cases are simply the best protection you can get, in my opinion. I had one on my S6, and for 2 years, it kept that intact through MANY phone misadventures... This new design also helps protect the curved edges, by turning up at the ends.

Anyways, is a pretty good case and has more padding than the Commuter so there is that. Its awesome how it does not interfere with the edged screen, my previous full cover case made it really uncomfortable to use edge functions.

We intentionally decided to forego the built-in screen protector on this version of the Defender because we wanted to offer our customers full access to the uniquely curved infinity display, and expected some hindrance from any integrated protection. That being said, the Defender still provides quality, tested security and will always be a very protective unit. I like that the charging port and aux port are covered. You are able to easily use all the buttons on the phone. And the price was just right. I got it on sale for $24.

It fits snugly and works with my screen protector film. The only drawback I can see with this case is that since it is so thick, its much more difficult to use the fingerprint reader. They do recommend retraining it, and I have done so. Not sure it helped.

The problem I had was, the phone will not charge wirelessly in this case. I believe the case is too thick, so for that reason I returned it. If you are not using wireless charge it will protect your phone

With that said. I'd rather have the phone protected than broken. Case stays on.
