The case doubles the weight of my tablet, but that's an acceptable trade for the excellent drop protection it provides. I like how the cover doubles as a stand. The screen protector does reduce the touch sensitivity, and it wears through my SPen nubs faster than a standard screen protector. Speaking of the SPen, the hard case has an opening for the SPen, but the silicone case does not; not a terrible problem for me because I use an alternate pen, but I can see it being an issue for others. My biggest annoyance is that it doesn't keep dust out like it claims; I find myself removing the case at least once a week to clean out dust, lint and dog hair.

Because I haven't had my tablet very long, I honestly can't say too much about this particular Otterbox except that it appears to be as well made as our Galaxy S4 Otterboxes, which have heroically saved our phones from 4 very, very hard drops on concrete. Furthermore, my trust in the Defender series is so great that when I gave two tablets as Christmas gifts this year, I also gave Defender Otterboxes to the recipients. Our tablets are no longer as sleek and lightweight with the use of the Otterboxes, but it is a small price to pay for having the piece of mind of a thoroughly protected device.

This is an outstanding case. I'm a contractor that needs to be sure my tablet is protected due to the harsh environments I deal with. This case will take all the abuse you can throw at it! I had one on my last tablet. That tablet died on me. I took it in to see if it could be repaired. When we took it out of the case it looked like it was brand new. Couldn't find one flaw. We were all extremely impressed.

This case is rugged, reliable, and very sturdy. The stand is not very functional as the tablet is top heavy when placed in the upright position. The plastic protective cover does attract dust, I've had to clean it many times. Putting cover on is very easy and the tablet is very well protected. I've dropped the tablet from about 2 feet and the tablet was not affected. I would highly recommend this cover.

This is a very sturdy and well built cover. It snapped together so well that I couldn't get it back open to put in my sd card, so my other half had to remove the cover for me. I'm not in the habit of dropping things, but I'm sure if I do my tablet is well protected.

I love otterbox, for phones though. I figured that this would be just as good as the phone cases. Don't get me wrong, if you want something rugged, this is it. It protects it perfectly, however, since I purchased the tablet with the pen, there was not an opening for the pen. That's the only negative review this case gets from me.

I bought the otterbox case because of good reviews and the kick stand is perfect and is used quite often. Its Durable and does a great job protecting the tablet. No complaints.

I'm glad I have this now for my daughter. She watches movies using the cover as a stand. Best of all it protects the screen. As always a very good product from OtterBox.

I put my otter box on the day I bought it. Since then I've dropped it a few times and even threw it. My tablet is still like new. I would absolutely recommend to a friend.

Does a great job of protecting my tablet and the weight helps hold it in place. Only problem I have to remove it to retreive my stylis for use. Kind of a pain.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is too thin and light to handle comfortably. But add the OtterBox Defender and it makes the Tab A feel and handle like a dream.

Have not had any issues since the purchase. Have not seen what happens if the tablet gets dropped. But definitely protects the screen and case is very durable from what I have seen.

Best case you can bye for the Samsung at this time. Would love it if it were also waterproof!

A key addition for someone as clumsy ando busy as I am. Screen protector doubles as a stand and I don't think twice about throwing it in my bag and heading out the door.

I have this same exact model case on my iPad. When my brother ordered his Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, I immediately offered to get him this case. Outterbox is a great brand and has never failed to protect the device inside. If you are looking for a great case that'll grant you longevity with your device, this is it.

This case is very protective, but not bulky. Great to protect from my son.

It is keeping our tablet like new vs a 13 year old boy. Definitely have the Geek Squad install it for you, they do it for free.

I bought this case to protect my tablet on the job outside. I liked the fact that it included a built in screen protector so I didn't have to buy any additional protection. My only complaint is that it does not rest vertically well as it shows in the pics because the stand is not tall enough and the tablet ends up top heavy in that position.

This tablet has survived multiple drops from my two year old dragging it off the counter, all thanks to this case!

Any smartphone or tablet should have a protective case. Otterbox has the best and backs up tte safety of your device should it be bumped around or fall, which is inevitable, while in their cases.
