The other half, though, is too small to fit on my iPad Pro (12,9"). It's got a rigid "lip" that prevents the device from being put in the back. What am I missing?

Posted .So sorry to hear you've had some trouble getting the Defender Series Pro case onto your iPad Pro. Excluding the stand that you've previously removed, were you able to separate the Defender Series Pro case into three other pieces?
First, you'll want to locate the charging port door on the bottom of your case and gently pull on that until you can see the exterior slipcover pulling away from the case. Once the slipcover is removed, you'll be able to locate the seam on the side of the hard inner-shell. Separate that into two pieces and from there, you'll be able to place your iPad into the back piece and assemble the case around your device.

I can’t believe it’s from otter box. This case doesn’t make sense. I kept it because I didn’t have another option as I didn’t have a case for my iPad. What a horrible investment. I wish I would’ve read the reviews first. Buyer beware

Need to learn the “trick” to release / separate case (on 4 corners) from iPad when popping iPad on the build-in stand. 2 build-in positions for displaying iPad. Nice. A bit heavy, but may be the case per product design. Have a different protection case (rubberized) for previous iPad that was ~$25 and a lot less heavy. I dropped the previous iPad (with protective case) often and it was well protected. With my new iPad and this OtterBox, I don’t feel as comfortable in letting it dropped. Haven’t drop the new iPad yet, don’t know if the OtterBox is up to the task as my previous combo. Definitely want (and need) a protective case for the new iPad.

It isn’t. I had to return it but will buy one when it actually fits my new iPad Pro 12.9

Posted .That's definitely a peculiar situation, as the Defender Series Pro case for iPad Pro 12.9" would have been packaged with the shield stand that has the stylus holder. Was the item purchased used or as a floor model or something like that? If so, is there an option to return for a refund?

You'd be surprised how many folks actually want direct interaction with their device displays, so we like leaving the option open for individual users.
