Assuming that this was done to improve signal strength for 5g. Even once the box is opened, it warns that full 5g signal strength might be impacted, "Maximum performance requires unobstructed antennas." Over time, the rubber outside shell will stretch and expose the edges. Every time I tell myself to wait a few weeks after a new iPhone is launched. Didn't listen to myself and have a bad feeling about this.
