Bought this case and initially the install was a little tricky and I thought the case was a little bulky. But I took my phone on a fly fishing float trip down the Colorado river. The boat tipped and everything went in the water. The phone was stored in a box that was filled half way with water. Pulled the phone out, separated it from the case and it was only slightly wet. Let everything dry and phone works just like it did before. No noticeable damage to phone or case as far as I can see. Overall, very pleased with the purchase. Although it doesn't advertise as waterproof, it will deter some water from going in the important components of your phone. I've dropped it numerous times as well, and the phone and case have held up well.

We buy Otter Box defenders for all our phones and with five of us in the family no one has broken a screen yet. We may have replace one or two screen protectors but that is what they are for. Otter box meets my family needs and protects these super expensive iphones.

The OtterBox case fits great, offers great protection and last a very long time before needing replacement. The only downside is the high cost. But overall I would recommend this product for someone looking for great protection but not style.

The Otterbox Defender does a great job protecting the phone including the glass. I put them on our techs that climb on and under large equipment to work on and the phone is protected. It doesn't claim to do so but it also seems to help when its raining or their is water that gets on the case. Plus there is a holder that you can put on your belt to carry your phone.

Could not ask for better protection for the iPod. Basic and well made. Glad I got it.

I have already knocked my phone off of precarious places that I have set it, numerous times and am sure that the OtterBox protected it. On the negative side, it makes the phone feel heavy and bulky.
