That will protect the front. Remove the Otter Box clear shield (The Verizon Rep popped it off. They are WELL AWARE of this issue with the Otter Box Defender.) Just keep the rest of the Otter Box rubber back and frame on the phone,

Although the Home button is covered, my phone had no issues recognizing my Touch ID. I have dropped my phone numerous times since putting on the OtterBox Defender case, and both my phone and the case are still in perfect condition.

This is a replacement due to my son damaging the first one we bought him. He claims it’s dropped out of his pocket and broke. The iPhone 8 screen was shattered and I had to pay to get the screen fixed. Otter box did send me a new case for free due to it being under warranty but it took forever to come reason why I had to cough up $50 for this one. Would have taken it back but the 15 days ran out before I could return it.
