Ive used the defender models on several phones in the past,….GREAT protection all around …UNTIL NOW!! The front bezel is now almost level with the screen…so really it offers very little protection for the screen edge……which is probably the most vulnerable part of the phone. Its a very strange part of the design to delete since it was the reason so many use that particular model. So im very dissappointed in this newest version for the iphone 16 pro

New case is very thin. Not near as robust and beefy as the otter box defender of the past. Camera lenses practically sit flush with outside of case so finger prints all over lens from talking on phone all the time resulting in blurry pictures. Cutout for camera is odd. Side zoom doesn’t work to often on iPhone anyways. Would have liked a simple button push and forget about the slide zoom on button with finger.

I have purchased an OtterBox Defender case for every iPhone I have ever owned, so when getting the new iPhone 16, I ordered this without thought. Upon installation, I was seriously skeptical of the HUGE inch gap left open for the new camera button but stuck with it anyway. The first drop of the phone I had, I shattered my tempered glass screen protector at that EXACT location. I then looked at other reviews on the OtterBox website and saw that the only response they gave to people on this design flaw was a copy/paste answer about how the "new notch does not diminish the drop protection of the case". If you drop this case on anything other than the world's flattest surface, you are for sure at risk. I feel very lucky that I did not majorly damage the phone, but I will not be risking it again. I am returning this case and opting for a competitor which protects the camera button area as well.

Great case. Only thing I don’t like is the cover for the charger port. Every one I’ve ever had tears where the cover meets the case. Otherwise - great case.

I read the reviews prior to purchasing. Most of them were not positive. I bought it anyway and Im happy with the decision.

Solid frame. Textured back that holds to surfaces, versus other smooth-backed cases. Huge selling point for me.

The textured back makes it harder to slide the phone in and out of my pocket. Other than that, no complaints.

Since I have a best buy account its a better buy than at Verizon

I have run OtterBox cases for over 15 years, and this is the only one I’ve ever returned. This case doesn’t protect your screen. After a week I realized my screen protector was smashed, the new button for the camera caused OB to apparently decide to just leave a blank space on the side. Now the screen is exposed where that button is, and if you’re like me you’ll learn why that’s a bad thing quickly. Terrible design, apple cases don’t have this empty spot. Not sure why a dedicated case company can’t figure it out.

The cut out in the front will lead to your skin roughing the screen when using it one handed. It makes it nearly impossible to swipe back while this is happening. Otterbox dropped the ball by not putting a full surround on the front of this phone. Also, where the cutout goes behind the camera button does not clip in well at all and is loose 24/7. This case is a waste of money.

The cover for the charging cord is difficult to open

Case seems good, but doesn’t reliably allow wireless charging. Had to take case off to charge, otherwise it charged intermittently.

havent had two weeks and cracked the cover on my iphone

Absolutely a poor design . My phone fell off car magnet , fell 6” and my zag screen saver cracked . So much for their drop test . The sides are not high enough to protest sides of phone. This happened week after I purchased it . It will be going back to store . Junk

Camera lens protector did not fit with case. Had to dremel edges of camera area of case in order for protector to fit.

Works well for what it’s for. I don’t like the flimsy silicone back. Plastic is much sturdier.

Poor protection. Exposed screen. I have purchase Otterbox case for my previous phones, but this one is terrible. I don't know what they were thinking.

The design and quality is poor on iphone 16 pro defender case. I returned mine for refund.

The edges catch in my pocket, the cutout for the camera button makes the case hard to hold, I liked their case on my previous 14 pro much better

I received the wrong Otter case from Best Buy and their customer service team made it very difficult to return.
