About 6 months in, the very thin tabs securing the plastic ring to the larger plastic backing will start to crack and break apart one by one. If you have no intent of ever taking it apart once you install it, go for it.

Glass cover is not a good fit and comes off

It continues to pop off even after three returns to the store to have it put back on. I can understand why the manufacturer has stopped producing them. I wish there was a replacement that would perform the function that it was intended for.
