It was uncomfortable to use and the phone and case were too heavy to use the socket as a kickstand without it falling over easily. It also flips upside down if you try and use the car mount holder. Poor design IMO.

In order to ensure that PopTop sits flush with the back of the case, we chose to recess the PopTop into the OtterBox a little. We appreciate your feedback, and we'll be sure to get it passed up the ladder to our design team. While using that OtterBox as a stand, we usually suggest pulling the PopTop all the way out then angling one side up. This allows you to use the side that's still popped out as the stand for your phone. Additionally, we recommend having the camera-side of your phone down and close to the stable surface.

Poorly designed

Because of that it lurches and is unstable when you place the phone in a pop socket mount. Also, the pop socket is flush with the case when pushed all the way in. You would think this is good but when it’s mounted it jiggles because the pop socket has to be out at least one click. Also, because it’s flush it takes two hands to pull the pop socket out. Also, because the pop socket is low on the back you can’t reach the top of the phone when holding it with one hand. I returned this item and bought a regular case and stuck a regular pop socket on the case.

Good case but...

The pop socket is too low on the phone so when you put it in the holder in the car the phone spins around.

Pop toggle falls off

Not really practical

I returned it for that reason as the pop socket feature didn’t really work for me.

Arrived late...case worth less than dollar

Bad Case From Otterbox
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Otterbox cases for years and this is the first one I’ve had to return. Do not buy this. The Pop Socket isn’t centered so it’s off balance when used as a stand or mounted using a car pop mount and will frequently fall over. It’s also way too recessed into the case so you can hardly fit you fingers under it to actually hold the phone like you’d want to. Plus the recessed placement makes it so you can’t easily mount it in your car. You have to pop out the socket first then mount it. It says on the back of the box for this product that it works with wireless chargers but that is false. It is very difficult for it to be positioned well enough for it to charge through this case. I assume it’s because of the added pop socket. Do not buy this case if you plan on using a wireless charger unless you are okay with taking your phone in and out of the case on a daily basis just to charge it. Overall you’re much better off just buying a different Otterbox case and mounting your own pop socket. Otherwise it is well built so I will give it 2 stars for that.

As for wireless charging, we do recommend removing the PopTop for the best charging experience. You may also notice some variation in the performances between different chargers. Poor/cheap build quality and ergonomics.

It seemed like it would be the perfect case; low profile, not too bulky, built-in popsocket that’s flush and doesn’t stick out. Should be the perfect case, right? Unfortunately the build quality is very poor. It’s not nearly as good or protective as the Symmetry case for my iPhone 8. It’s cheap plastic with no rubber padding or cushioning (which previous Symmetry case have had). And because the popsocket is recessed into the case it’s a much tighter fit between your fingers. People with small hands might be okay, but most people will find it too tight. I will be returning this and getting the regular Symmetry case and buying a separate popsocket. Side note: I checked out the regular Symmetry cases for the iPhone 11 pro and although they were slightly better than this one, they still weren’t as good quality or as protective as the iPhone 8 Symmetry case. What’s going on, OtterBox!?
