Works fine but I have to admit the Defender otter case is preferable. This case is more hard shell and less rubber/cushion. I feel it is less grippable. It also is just one shell as opposed to having an inner shell. However is also less bulky

The only drawback is the phone isn't as sensitive to tapping on the rear as a control when compared to without the case. I have dropped the phone a few times, no damage to the phone and no lastang damage to the case either.

It has well-padded protective sides that are not slick so it is very safely held and grips well to get out of a pocket. This is the second case I have had and I would not buy another brand. I love it.

I am a very active person who in my normal day of activities abuse the case. It holds up better than any I have ever owned and I get a new iPhone every time there is a new model.

I believe this case will definitely protect my new purchase from drops and scratches. If you seek more protection may I suggest the Otter Box Defender case
