Perfect cooler for the solo camper

Read a lot of good reviews before making the purchase and it did not disappoint when I received the cooler. Used it for camping last month and was impressed with the solid design and optional accessories. It also held ice very well. So, far so good. I might consider getting a bigger version.

It would be easier to transport if it was on wheels and had an extendable handle. Fold down side handles would also be an improvement. It will hold ice for 4-5 days but not 10 days as some claim. The plastic also scratches somewhat easy.

Don’t know if i would pay 200 plus , but Best Buy had it as deal of the day !!!! Awesome half price sale

It’s extremely useful because it keeps things cold. Imagine that: a cooler that keeps things cool! Plus mine is in camo coloring. So, it’s obvisouly better than any other version.

For a name like otterbox i feel a bit disappointed as i expected a tough box deserving of the otterbox name!!!

I saw this cooler on sale and decided to take the leap. I was swayed by Otterbox's claim that it could hold ice for up to 10 days and thought it was a good deal. After using it several times in mild ambient temperatures I can say with certainty that the claim is false. I was able to pack it with about 16 beverage cans and the rest ice. The cooler held for about 4 days until all that remained were the cans and water. Additionally, the attachable clips for various Otterbox containers are unnecessary and just clutter the cooler.

We apologize that this Venture Cooler isn't quite stacking up to expectations! It is definitely odd that the ice in the unit was only able to last four days, since as long as the ice to content ratio is solid and the cooler isn't opened too often, the ice should stay for up to ten days. To increase ice longevity, we would suggest pre-cooling the actual cooler the night before, as this gets the unit ready to go. Additionally, try using blocks of ice rather than ice cubes - these have proven to last longer.

Liked it so well that we got another one. Only downside is that when it comes, it isn't in a box so you might have to use some cleaner to spiff it up. I used lighter fluid and it worked like a charm

The reason for 4 vs. 5 stars the exterior size is big compared useable interior.

A little smaller on the inside than I would have thought, but kept everything cold in it inside my car on two 90+ degree days.

It isn't a huge compartment, but big enough to hold a case of water bottles with a bag of ice. Lasts for days. If this one is on sale, it is just as good and the more expensive brand.

We typically expect a bit longer ice retention times for the Venture Coolers, but we have some tips that should help keep that ice around longer! Around 24 hours before you need to use the cooler, we suggest tossing some ice into your cooler to "pre-cool" it, then drain any water that's melted off, and add new ice. This ensures that your fresh ice isn't melting as it tries to lower the initial temperature of your cooler!
