Microwave Installation had to be done twice

Microwave install

I asked him to leave since he refused to even try to adjust the microwave. He then refused to leave as if he needed to spend a certain amount of time or he would not get paid. It was frightening to have a large man refuse to leave our house. After he left, I loosened the mounting screws and readjusted the microwave to our satisfaction. I wish that I took photos to show the difference.

Fishy installation

They charged me $150, payable by cash/check only, directly to the installer who delivered it or they would take the product back. Couldn't give me the full name of the company either. (I did find it on-line. They seemed legit under contract w/ Best Buy.) Installer said they had to change out some electric but, disclaimer, they were not electricians. Whatever. Didn't feel like I had much choice. It was hard enough to schedule - had to take off work as they couldn't accommodate several available days. No idea if the company actually received the money.

Decent install!

DO NOT GET INSTALLATION

Picked a date and time for installation. Original window was from 7a-1p, then was changed to 11a-2p, then was changed a third time to 3p-6p. Waited 14+ hours and Best Buy could not tell me where my appliance was or if they were even going to show up. Did not offer to reschedule and finally when I was able to reschedule I was being out at the bottom of the list with a 8pm time. Unacceptable!!!!!!!!! I should not have to waste an entire day waiting for an appliance let alone waste a second day waiting for an appliance considering I work shift work and overnight. Customer service was a disaster and no one wanted to resolve the issue. Needless to say I had to find my own installer to install an over the range microwave.

Exhaust Requires Special Attention

They didn't have the correct Transition and didn't know where I could get one. The Pacific Sales person told me incorrectly that if I currently have an OTR unit, all the required exhaust parts should already be there. This is incorrect. The KitchenAid OTR units require a special Transition. The Transition must have a straight shoot for the first 3 inches, otherwise the unit's exhaust damper will NOT open correctly and ventilation performance will be poor!
