Amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Baby monitors have come a long way in the past years Gen 1 were basically a walkie-talkie that gave notification of a crying baby Gen 2 introduced a video feed to a dedicated monitor where you could look in the room to see what is going on Gen 3 took the best of gen 1 & 2 and put it onto your phone and/or tablet I see this as the evolution to gen 4 where sound, sight is still available on a mobile device, but it adds activity monitoring. Think of it as a baby monitor meets a fitness tracker. You get the usual audio and visual feeds, but also sleep, heart rate, movement and wakings. Added to that, room conditions like temp and humidity are also reported Truly game changing technology The product itself is not inexpensive, but the build is not cheap. Unboxing shows that the fit & finish is quality and the feel is pleasant The setup is also top notch. If you can connect a set of Bluetooth speakers or headset, you can do the same here. Unboxing and setup took just a few minutes The user interface is simple and intuitive and makes it easy to begin working this into the sleep or nap routine After a few cycles, you get the hang of it and we look forward to reviewing the history once we establish more days For your most precious family member, this will become necessary

Peacefully with peace
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a brand new baby nephew, and I was sure this is going to be perfect for him. His mother is a new mother and my brother is a professional father. This was both for his health and his mother's natural worry and concern as this is her first baby. The camera for both of them, so she can see him napping during the day and keep my brother on his toes. And the oxygen sock for monitoring things. They have some small concerns about. She's in the medical business and really adores the gift. She's able to take data from it and give it to the pediatrician as well as monitor it herself. This is an amazing gift for a first-time parents or parents who have children that were born with a few complications. The camera is obvious. Didn't take very long to hook everything up. It was about getting the camera and a comfortable angle and spot. Like any camera. It's going to be weird in the daytime. And the whole 2G 5G Wi-Fi connectivity thing was a little tricky but easy to get past. My brother has two Wi-Fi setups in his home and we just went with the one that was an automatic connector. Not entirely sure if it was a 2G or 5G connection, but we got it up and running with the automatic connecting Wi-Fi.

puts your mind at ease!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a parent is full of worry and stress but this owlet duo really put my mind at ease. Knowing I basically have "a set of eyes" on my sleeping baby has really helped me relax while she's sleeping. I've used the smart sock before and I personally love the technology. The addition of the camera with the sock is genius! It's so easy to bring up the app and get any info on my sleeping baby. The quality of the camera is pretty good. At times, in night vision, it can be a little grainy and occasionally the app can be a little laggy but those are really my only gripes with this product. It's quite easy to set up and the build quality of both devices are fantastic. They don't feel cheap at all. The set comes with a few sock sizes and the sock charges very quickly. We use it mainly at night but sometimes when I'm home alone with the baby I'll put it on her just for piece of mind while she's sleeping during the day. My only recommendation would be to add a portable monitor so you don't need to use your smartphone to check in. The app is decent but I would prefer to have a monitor next to me with constant feedback as a traditional baby monitor offers.

Great Duo of Security
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say, this is just what we needed to give us a sense of security and peace. We've used each device separately in the past, so to use both in duo is just perfect. For what they are and what they provide as well as the quality, they are well worth it. Of course one can argue they aren't necessary, I mean I sure grew up without anything tech attached to my foot and always watching me! But you don't have to feel worried when you're not in the same room as your little one with this sock on his/her foot and with the Cam 2 having eyes on when yours are closed. Quality is great, and for me personally, set up is a breeze. I don't quite know if it's a must have, but it's definitely a nice convenience. As for the data provided by the sock, to be honest I don't know if I trust the values unless they're on the extreme end which is still nice. It's like a smart watch but for your little foot. The app is intuitive and makes sense, but as for making use of the data it provides, I take it loosely. For us, it's more to monitor any extremities to which we wouldn't continue looking at our phone, but go see what's happening live in person.

Missing Key Monitoring From Previous Models
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Owlet Dream Duo adds some new features to previous Owlet sock functionality, but unfortunately they've had to do away with the most important feature that made the Owlet originally a standout among a sea of baby tracking systems; the active O2 monitor. The system feels mostly cohesive, but also suffers from a subpar app and antiquated video monitoring. This is my third Owlet product. I've owned both the 2nd generation and 3rd generation socks. I was so pleased with the 2nd generation sock that I decided the 3rd was enough of an upgrade to get it as well. We also had the 1st generation camera. That camera didn't fare well, to be honest, as it suffered from connection issues and was generally unusable for us. All this is to say, we have a lot of experience with Owlet products. We had our second child two weeks ago and decided to give the Dream Duo a shot, not knowing the full scope of what was (and was not) included. In regards to the sock, I can't help but feel disappointed. It seems to be the same hardware as the 3rd generation sock, and as such is very convenient to charge and very easy to put on kids. It has active heart rate monitoring, which is good, but it seems they've been forced to remove the real time O2 level monitoring, instead replacing this with an average readout of the past 5 minutes. Presumably this is a pivot based on some regulatory trouble that came down on Owlet, so I don't even really blame the company. However, the end result is a product that feels significantly less useful for parents that like to purchase this primarily for peace of mind. That being said, they've transitioned this product to focus more on sleep quality, and it seems this bundle now includes the Dream Lab sleep training program. This will be a hit with certain parents that are planning to sleep train their kids, giving useful insight into sleep quality and patterns that will help give you kid a better night of sleep (and a better ability to independently sleep). We haven't yet used this feature given our child's young age, but I've heard good things about it. The camera is a modest upgrade over the previous generation and adds some additional features like action clips that you can go back and watch. This is an improvement not only over the last generation cam, but also a lot of the more basic baby monitors on the market. However, it would be more useful to have a more comprehensive video timeline to help with tracking. In terms of performance, it seems to operate a bit better than the previous model in this regard as well, but time will tell if it's truly an upgrade. Overall, I can't help but feel disappointed. Again, understanding that the company was forced to reposition their product, I understand why they did it. But active O2 monitoring was a landmark feature of the Owlet product line, and I can't help but feel like the usefulness of the sock has been majorly impacted. They've tried to bridge the gap by making this sleep quality focused, and it will be useful in that regard, just not in actively monitoring sleep safety as it was in the past.

Pivoting to sleep training
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had experience with Owlet products before, including a previous rendition of the Dream Sock, which was formerly called the Smart Sock. It had some concerns, mainly with the measurement of the blood oxygen levels so Owlet actually pulled the Smart Sock from the market. It has come back instead with the Dream Sock and now instead has opted for sleep training. Honestly, when I first tried the Smart Sock, I had thought that it would be nice to pair with a baby monitor to physically correlate the things you were monitoring. So the Cam 2 and Dream Sock Duo made sense to me. I was excited to see how real-world use would turn out. In terms of build quality and design. I have always liked the Owlet Sock designs. I think that they work great as long as my baby doesn't kick them off. They feel soft and did not cause any skin irritation although whether or not my baby liked keeping it on was a different question. The Owlet Cam 2 is also built and designed well. The magnetic base allows you to really hit any angle that you want. It also feels strong and sturdy. Setup on the app was not as straightforward as I expected. I ran into some connectivity issues but eventually got it to work. I am not sure exactly what the problem was. This may have been a temporary hiccup for me. Once it got going, I did not face issues with setup. In terms of use, the camera was somewhat disappointing in its image quality. The images were not as sharp as I was used to from other baby monitors. The audio quality itself is ok but the lag was more than I was expecting. It was disconcerting at times to hear the audio lag when monitoring via video and not what you would expect in this day and age to be honest. The app is ok. I enjoy the information that it provides such as how awake your baby is, heart rate, movement, etc. The Dream Lab part of the app gives suggestions and potential sleep training methods and guides. All in all, I think pairing the cam and sock are a good idea by Owlet. However, with the lag issues, real-world use can suffer significantly. I think if improvements in the camera, video/audio lag, and app alerts were made, this would be a much better product.

Peace of Mind for New Parents
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of my daughters had tried one of these with her then baby girl. She loved it. Now my daughter-in-law tried this newer version with her baby girl, my third granddaughter. She was excited, although she is not as paranoic as my daughter used to be. The main reason is that this is her second daughter, and now she has more experience with babies. Still, she believes it’s comforting to know the baby is doing well and mom and dad can sleep more relaxed. This is a camera with a special sock with sensors that monitors some vitals. It is great for new parents, giving them a sense of security, and letting them know how well the baby is sleeping and things like unusual heart rates and oxygen level. With the accompanying app, you don’t need to go to the baby’s room all the time. To be honest, even I liked to have it while we were babysitting the baby last weekend. While she was sleep upstairs, we could keep an eye on her while doing some work at the house. My spouse, who is in the medical field, like the rest of the family, and an expert on babies by profession, pointed out that it’s very good to have something like that. Of course, she also mentioned that this has been rebranded because it is not FDA approved and they cannot claim some of the things they did. It doesn’t mean that it’s illegal or harmful. Just keep in mind that it is a monitoring tool, not a medical device. You will need to charge it daily, but that’s expected with battery-powered devices that need to transmit data. I don’t see that as an issue. Just charge it when the baby is awake. It takes less than an hour. The camera is still like the first. Not perfect but good enough. As with the previous version, I still recommend it, especially for new parents. In case you suspect something wrong with your baby though, don’t trust it that much. Only a healthcare provider can determine that

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was one of the best gifts that I could give my daughter-in-law for my first granddaughter, very responsive, helps them monitor her sleep, with a peace of mind that normally we wouldn’t have if we didn’t have things like this to make our life a little bit more easier during tiring times.

Unsafe. Don't trust your kids safety to this trash
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolute garbage. The camera routine disconnects despite being in close proximity and on the same wifi network. Multiple times now, put the baby down, didn't hear a peep from her in a while, checked the app to see the camera randomly stopped working, went to check on the baby and founder screaming and crying for God knows how long. This piece of garbage is unsafe and should be pulled from shelves.

DO NOT BUY!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cam had a very poor connection to wifi, I tried multiple routers. Delay is video feed is very large. Constant reconnects. The sock wouldn’t connect at all to router. Owlet helpdesk is non-responsive by email. Bestbuy only allows return for 15 days, so I’m royally screwed.
