It is a great product. The only con is the Bluetooth connection distance is limited. Maybe 50 feet.

Great little device for your peace of mind while your baby sleeps.

I'm really sad that this sock had regressed in features since the Smart Sock 3 was taken off the market in the US. We've used multiple smart sock 3s since our daughter was born and I love the peace of mind that they've given us. Unfortunately, this new "Dream Sock" is pretty much a watered down version of the Smart Sock 3 for the same price. The Smart Sock 3 was able to read your child's heart rate AND blood oxygen level in real time. This new Dream Sock looks to only give you their heartrate so if you were looking for the O2 reading as a differentiator from some of their competitors, you might be able to look elsewhere again. The loss of this functionality might be an easier pill to swallow if the price wasn't the same as the Smart Sock 3 when it was available. The sensors do look very similar so maybe the sensor is still there and Owlet is just waiting for FDA approval to activate and market that functionality again but for now it stings to have a brand new sensor with less features than the one we got 2 years ago. As far as setup goes. It's fairly easy and straight forward for most wifi networks. I spent a fair bit of time troubleshooting an issue with all of my Owlet base stations that ended up being the strict DNS-over-TLS setting that I had recently enabled on the new router I bought. Owlet appears to not be able to connect to a network that uses this setting. Turning it off brought all of the base stations back and at that point it was easy to connect again. I only bring it up in case it saved someone a few hours of troubleshooting since, at the time, there was no mention of the incompatibility on their troubleshooting pages. Another thing I am not happy with on this new sock is the need for a new app for whatever reason. Apparently they were unable to update the older Owlet app with the lesser functionality of this new sock so there's a whole new app that looks and acts very similar. This is probably more of an annoyance and not a huge deal, especially if this is the only sock you have. If you have a Smart Sock 3 already and are adding this to your collection, it'll probably be more annoying. Luckily the data from the old socks are all saved on the account online so you're not losing any data or anything. Using the sock is simple. It wraps around your baby's foot and usually you'll cover it up with the footy of their PJs or a sleeper sack if they sleep in one so they can't pry it off. If we don't have our child's covered, she will almost immediately take it off. But the readings come in and we haven't experienced any false alarms or weird positioning of this sock yet. It's a rare occurrence on the older socks but it does happen occasionally. There is information in the app and online about how to attempt to avoid false red alarms. Overall, this sock functions almost identically to the old Smart Sock 3 just without the O2 sensor that set it apart from competitors. I really hope the sensor is still there and they're able to activate it with a firmware update after FDA approval but at the time of this review, that's not the case so I wouldn't buy this without confirming that. I would recommend the old sock if you can find it somewhere. Or wait until it's available again in the US.

Bought this for my sister right before she gave birth and she loves it!! I thought it would be a great gift for a first time mom. She loves it!!!!

Gave wrong oxygen levels wasn’t consistent with medical reader.

The Owlet Dream Sock is very innovative and comes in handy with a newborn or any infant to bring the parents comfort and ease anxiety. You are able to monitor your baby’s sleep status after downloading and syncing the Owlet Dream App (available in the Apple/Android mobile stores). Both my wife and I are able to have the app on our own phones to monitor the baby as often as we’d like which is very convenient. I love that the baby’s every movement, oxygen level, and heartbeat are available at the touch of the app. The personalized Sleep Coaching feature adapts to your baby’s sleep habits as they get older and over time improves their quality/length of sleep. The fabric sock fits babies 0-18 months that weigh anywhere between 5-30 lbs. The sock can be used both for naps and for bedtime and has a range of 100 feet (no more than a room or 2 away from the base). It fits underneath footie pajamas or even regular socks and doesn’t take up much space. Even if the baby moves around throughout the night, the sock will continue to monitor their sleep. If it becomes displaced for any reason and isn’t able to continue monitoring, a displacement alarm will sound from the device. The Base Station provides a full charge (16 hours) within 90 minutes and a rapid charge (8 hours) in 20 minutes. The Sleep Assist Prompt is a wonderful touch – it will play music and glow the soothing color of lavender when your baby is having trouble sleeping. This device has been a huge comfort to both myself and my wife, and gives us a peace of mind at bedtime. It’s reassuring to easily open the app to check on your newborn’s sleeping during the night and allows us to sleep better because of it.

When it comes to buying baby products a lot of them seem to predominantly offer parents peace of mind to which this is exactly what the Owlet Dream Sock does. Upon venturing into all the various baby products this was one item I knew I wanted as I had been told numerous times from other first time parents that their babies were completely motionless when they slept, but they didn`t dare risk waking them up. The Owlet solves this problem perfectly! Upon opening the sock it is apparent that Owlet had quality in mind. The material of the sock seemed very comforting and our baby didn`t have any issues. The inclusion of four separate socks (left and right along with 2 sizes) was a nice added feature to ensure the widest range of uses. The small base station was nice and the wireless charging is a great feature! Getting into the actual use of the sock though is where it really shines. The sock tracked nearly every aspect of our baby`s sleep that you could ask for to which I will say that it no longer does track blood oxygen level, but I think for the vast majority this should not be a deterrent to purchasing the product in the slightest as the amount of other sleeping measurements was immense! The ability to track heart rate, movement, and times woken up is not where it ends though as it is not just a tracking product, but also a learning product as it took our child`s sleep data and showed how it could be improved along with setting up a sleep program and then even providing weekly parenting tips. Some of the best functions of this sock that go unnoticed are the ease of use, fit of the sock, and the long battery life. Upon opening the product it was up and running in less than five minutes and my wife and I were even able to use it that night. The fit has been great and we have not had any issues with it falling off in the slightest. Then the battery life is exceptional as it seems to last for naps and through the nights without issue. Overall, I can`t recommend this product enough for both peace of mind while your child is sleeping and also to help improve your child`s overall sleep with the various programs and tips. If you`re looking specifically for a high tech mini apple watch that is going to record every body metric then this may not be for you, but if you are looking for peace of mind and better sleep for both yourself and your child then this product is a must!!

The Owlet Dream sock is a baby monitoring device that wraps around your child's foot. It's not truly a sock but rather more like an foot wrap that needs to go directly on skin. I have a traditional camera baby monitor and while that works well, I've wanted something that could help give us more insight into our infant's sleep and help transition him to sleeping through the night. Also, something where I'd get baby wake up notifications on my phone, so I'm not necessarily tied to ensuring I have the monitor base with me. It is surprising how often the base disappears during the day and it's a regular feature that about once a day, we spend a couple minutes looking for where it was last placed. So the dream socks consists of the mint green foot wrap, a base station which charges the sock, plays music, and provides some visual indication (both for you and to help soothe baby to get back to sleep), and the usual extras (charging cable, instructions). While it is pretty simple to use, I highly suggest a few test runs during the day when baby is awake and calm to get a sense for how you'd go about applying the sock. The sock is solely a sensor, I think similar to the heart rate/sleep tracking sensors used in smart watches. So the major thing here is the Dream app because that's what controls the base, provides analytics, and some sleep training guidance. The app is easy to setup and use. You'd go through a quick assessment on your baby's current habits if you want a customized sleep program. It provides detailed analytics like sleep quality, time sleep started, periods of wakefulness/activity, breakdown between awake, light sleep, and deep sleep, and heart rate. Having real-time heart rate available is nice, though perhaps given that there's nothing really tied to that, its tough to say the utility. I appreciate having that info though I know with my first child, that may have been too much info and lead to obsessing over every little detail. The app provides notification cards for your child sleeping, being awake, or when it detects an assist is needed. An assist doesn't necessarily mean your child has woken up, but perhaps they're a bit restless and need some slight soothing to stay asleep. As many parents will instinctively know, this is almost more useful information than whether your child has woken up. This prompt for assist is the only push notification you get. And while it is a pretty critical one as I mentioned, having an "awake" push notification is also very useful, especially if you don't have a camera monitor. I understand some of this is by design on the part of Owlet, but it would have been nice to at least add in a menu item to get that notification for those who aren't (or would like to stop) using a camera monitor. Sock battery life was good. Enough for an overnight and then morning sleep. It also charges pretty quickly so if you're in the habit of always putting the sock on the base station in between naps, you'd pretty much never have an instance where battery runs out during a nap. The sock seems designed for the first year of infancy. For at least half of that, if not more, your baby will need to nurse or otherwise drink milk or formula several times through the night. So, where something like this has a lot of utility, at least to me, is in the 6 months to 18 months stage where you're transitioning your child to sleeping completely through the night with no intervention from parents. I think having models for older/bigger children where you can choose a sock for a particular stage could be a good way to bridge this gap. For a first child, this is a great device. Once you're at child 2 or 3, having more help on the latter stage of sleeping becomes more of the parental need.

The packaging is nice and the instructions are easy to follow. The sock can be fitted on the left or right foot and can be sized according to the baby. It does a decent job of monitoring heart rate and sleep quality. However that’s where the good ends, at least for us. It doesn’t hold a charge long and when the battery drains the base alarms obnoxiously until the sensor is placed to charge. When the battery goes in the middle of the night we have to wake the baby to remove the sock and put the sensor on the base to charge. Same loud alarm issue if the sock shifts on the foot and the sensor doesn’t pick up the heart beat. It alarms until the sock is placed properly. It’s great if working as intended solely for heartbeat but not good for an active sleeper. You can temporarily dismiss the alarm in the app but its like hitting a snooze button and goes off again soon after. I even wonder if we may have a faulty sock. The only vitals monitored is the heart beat. Other then that the sock monitors the baby’s sleep habits. It advises whether the baby is soundly asleep, lightly sleeping or awake, all of which we can pretty much see ourself on a baby monitor. This is probably good for a swaddled newborn but once they start moving actively throughout the night, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared to get up every hour to adjust it and can deal with the constant alarms. The main purpose and what the app advertises constantly is the sock is for "developing good sleep habits". Our baby was already sleeping soundly through the entire night. We are more interested in vitals. We could live with the somewhat limited data but the constant alarms were the dealbreaker for us after a few nights.

The Owlet - Dream Sock Baby Monitor – Mint is a nice device to bring peace of mind and allow a good night’s sleep for a baby’s parents or caretaker. It monitors the baby’s sleeping pattern and sends data to the nearby base station and the Owlet Dream App on my phone. When using the Owlet Dream app, I can view how-to-videos, get support, and monitor levels to compare over the long term. I can setup notifications and get an overview of accumulated data. Prompts of different colors (lavender, blue, and yellow) tell parents what to be on alert for keeping baby well during sleep. The Owlet - Dream Sock Baby Monitor – Mint is good for learning the baby’s sleeping patterns levels, but must be paired with the Owlet Dream Duo camera to have total satisfaction of the baby’s safety and healthiness.

Easy to use. Helps mom and dad sleep at night knowing we will be notified if something goes wrong. Great app showing metrics and current breathing status and oxygen statistics. Will use it all the way up to 6 months!

To start, let me clarify that the “baby” this was tried on is already 16 months old. There are four socks but only one is for toddlers. The other three won’t be used for her. My daughter likes it but she thinks that it’s best suited for younger babies and that’s why I’m looking forward to trying it on the new grandbaby coming in a couple of months. She used the previous model and absolutely loved it. It actually helped her with her anxiety as a first-time parent. As for this one, she stopped using it after the fourth night because her toddler would remove it and wake himself up along with mom, dad and whoever else might be in the house. Realizing it would play a very loud lullaby when it wasn’t on his foot, he would make sure it didn’t stay there for long just to listen to it. Younger babies shouldn’t experience the same issue. Be warned though. The data gathered through the app can provide parents with good insight about their baby sleep quality, which can potentially help moms and dads adjust beds, room temperature or even discuss with their health provider about what might be going on with the baby. As a witness, I can say that the Owlet Dream Sock Baby Monitor is more useful for new but not so much for more veteran parents who knows what to expect and are less anxious about their babies while they sleep. I recommend it for the former but not for the latter. It is also best for babies under 12 months.

I will say that I have used the Owlet smart sock before. While I was a fan, I thought that maybe the amount of information if gave could actually worsen anxiety for parents. Especially with the alarms. I think simplifying the information like the Owlet Dream Sock is actually the right move. Setup is easy enough. You choose which of the 4 sock sizes work. Unfortunately, my baby has monster feet despite being 6 months, but I think the 18 month limit is great because past that, inquisitive babies just tear it off. Having just simple information about sleep quality is honestly all you need. When they are awake, they 100% are going to have supervision. And you will definitely know that they are awake. It is when they are sleeping that you want that peace of mind and monitor. So knowing about my baby's sleep quality and how I can make adjustments is more valuable than knowing my baby's oxygen saturation 24/7. If my baby starts getting restless, you get a notification for assist to come and help soothe. Just like the information you get on smartwatches, it tracks the times when the baby is awake, in light sleep, in deep sleep, and in REM sleep. Battery life is awesome. Charging is very quick. All in all, I have been very happy with it!

I have had the dream sock for almost a month now, and after daily use I am very happy with it. I wish we could constantly see the current O2 reading instead of the average 10 minute reading; but overall with tracking sleep, showing me the times she seems to sleep the best, and to know what her heart rate is at all times, I am happy with the product and I would recommend it to anyone wanting any extra piece of mind that has the money to spend on it.

When I reviewed the previous version of the Owlet baby monitoring sock, I noted that the stats it provided on your baby's sleep were perhaps too much info. What I like about the new Dream Sock is that it distills the data down to a simple assessment of sleep quality. It still provides the most helpful data - has my baby gone into deep sleep yet, is she waking up, does she need a little soothing since she's restless - but the presentation in the app is a little nicer this time around. I can't really speak to the value of the 'extra' info regarding sleep habits and sleep training that you get with the Dream Sock and the Dream app, since I've been blessed with great sleepers with my kids. I find the most value in the app letting me know that nap time is ending soon (something I tried unsuccessfully to replicate with my oldest using a motion sensor) which helps prevent frustrated cries from a bored and fully awake little one.

We love the dream sock! The sock gives me ease of mind that my baby’s heartrate is normal and is average o2 is good. We are able to safely monitor him without entering his room and quickly see some information that helps us have ease of mind. Sock can be tempermental until you understand how to use it, but our boy never sleeps at home without it now!

Packaging: The sock was packaged with everything separated nicely and in the order you needed them for set up. Setup: There is an app that goes along with this sock. One of the selling points for me. As a side note make sure you download the exact application stated on the package. Owlet has multiple apps for different socks. My first go around with setting up the sock I downloaded the wrong app since I only searched for Owlet and not the exact wording on the box. I am not sure why they have multiple apps but it made it a little confusing. Once I downloaded the correct application set up went fairly smoothly connecting the base to the sock and to my home wifi. Usage: This product is for children up to 18 months so provided are 4 socks 1 pair for infants and one pair for toddlers. This is great so you can switch feet and once your child gets bigger you can use the bigger sock so there isn’t any discomfort. My only issue with the socks is that both the infant and toddler socks where used Velcro to keep it on. For infants this was fine, but my curious toddler was not having it a different way to secure it would have been better. This was only made worse by both my phone and the base unit playing a loud lullaby to let us know that the sock had lost connection to our baby. There is no way to turn this down or off completely. I contacted support just to make sure I wasn’t missing something in the app but they confirmed there wasn’t any way to adjust the sound on the dream sock. So if you are ok waking up in a panic thinking something happened then this would be ok. We absolutely did not like waking up to find all that happened was the sock came off. Data: The best part is the data you get from the sock. How well your child is sleeping if they are tossing in deep sleep etc. This was helpful to know because we directly saw correlations to our child’s mood based on sleep patterns. Also, if your child is sick you will also see how well or bad they are sleeping and medicate accordingly. Maybe they aren’t breathing as well as they should all these are pulled into the app and are very easy to read.
