Good movie, but not as good as the first one. Worth watching and has great special effects

Pacific Rim is definitely one of my favorite movies... I bought it a little while ago on Blu Ray so I was skeptical about getting it on 4K UHD now, now that I have a 4K player (It should be noted I have 4k TV but do not have "HDR"). I know there is a lot of debate about "real" v.s. "fake" 4K UHD discs, how it was mastered, etc.... I understood Pacific Rim was mastered in 2K so this is technically a "fake" UHD. I still bought it as I read about it still having some improvement in picture.... My opinion: You can call it "fake" all you want, I don't care, I think this UHD version has gorgeous visual appeal! Very sharp, stunning detail in many aspects. Overall it was a much more pleasing display than the Blu Ray. Even if I know for a fact this is a "fake" I am happy to have paid more. It came out beautiful whether it is "fake" or not. Totally recommend.

This is a decent giant robot movie that’s very entertaining.

My best advice is do not expect an engrossing storyline or plot, and you will not be dissapointed. Actors are a respectable B+, seeing as most are TV series breakouts, trying to make their mark on the industry. But still impressed with the lead actors. There is a sense of chemistry and dynamics between 3 in particular, which is expected in breakout roles. Not bad at all just at moments can seem a little overdone. But overall does not detract much from the main plot. Storyline is about as somber as Godzilla and just about as predictable, but just acceptable enough to keep the pace with the action taking place. Cinematography is impressive for a film of this budget. Scale is represented well and action is fluid and intense. The movie shines with its impressive use of color palettes. All things considered, definitely a gem in its genre. Bluray audio and video on the disk is excellent.

Bought to watch before the new one came out ! Even better as price was reduced !!!!

A great movie from the master storyteller Guillermo del Toro. Great visuals, but be aware that the digital copy is only HD quality and not UHD. I didn't catch this on the packaging. I think that it's a cheep move from the manufacturer. If I buy the UHD movie, I should get the UHD digital copy.

I still enjoyed the second but this was even better.
