It looks so clear it's not even funny, the hdr is amazing

My best advice is do not expect an engrossing storyline or plot, and you will not be dissapointed. Actors are a respectable B+, seeing as most are TV series breakouts, trying to make their mark on the industry. But still impressed with the lead actors. There is a sense of chemistry and dynamics between 3 in particular, which is expected in breakout roles. Not bad at all just at moments can seem a little overdone. But overall does not detract much from the main plot. Storyline is about as somber as Godzilla and just about as predictable, but just acceptable enough to keep the pace with the action taking place. Cinematography is impressive for a film of this budget. Scale is represented well and action is fluid and intense. The movie shines with its impressive use of color palettes. All things considered, definitely a gem in its genre. Bluray audio and video on the disk is excellent.

Pacific Rim is definitely one of my favorite movies... I bought it a little while ago on Blu Ray so I was skeptical about getting it on 4K UHD now, now that I have a 4K player (It should be noted I have 4k TV but do not have "HDR"). I know there is a lot of debate about "real" v.s. "fake" 4K UHD discs, how it was mastered, etc.... I understood Pacific Rim was mastered in 2K so this is technically a "fake" UHD. I still bought it as I read about it still having some improvement in picture.... My opinion: You can call it "fake" all you want, I don't care, I think this UHD version has gorgeous visual appeal! Very sharp, stunning detail in many aspects. Overall it was a much more pleasing display than the Blu Ray. Even if I know for a fact this is a "fake" I am happy to have paid more. It came out beautiful whether it is "fake" or not. Totally recommend.

Great movie in 4K format,and great over your 4k Television.

This is a decent giant robot movie that’s very entertaining.

Pacific Rim is the stuff of "man versus giant monsters" childhood playtime on a Hollywood A-film budget and it surprisingly delivers! Yes, the story and characters could be right out of a comicbook, BUT that's part of its charm. You get flawed, but mostly likeable protagonists in their big war machines trying to save mankind from giant beasts sent to earth as a prelude to invasion (their masters' plans harken back to those of the ID4 aliens) and when things begin to deteriorate quickly you hope the "Oliver & Hardy"-like comedy relief scientist duo can find a solution to save the day. If you've ever enjoyed Godzilla, any Ray Harryhausen flick, Ultraman, Johnny Socko & His Flying Robot, Transformers or the like, chances are you will thoroughly enjoy this!... At least as much as it appeared that Ron Perlman enjoyed playing Hannibal Chau. ;) If that's not your bag, but you enjoy super hero movies, you may like it as well - at least for the characters and action. The end credits tribute to Ishiro Honda and Ray Harryhausen is most appropriate. :)
