Pacific Rim 2: Uprising is an improvement from 1 due to the fresh faces of the newer actors, Scott Eastwood, and Chinese film star, actress Jing Tian! The character Charlie Day plays and his counterpoint character are wickedly "evil," and eccentric, respectively. I liked this movie because the excitement generated watching it goes beyond the now very dated movements of TRANSFORMERS 1-4. To my mind, they were "preparatory" for this movie.

This was a clever sequel to the original Pacific Rim movie. Set 20 years in future the Kaizan are back and a new generation of pilots must do battle with them. If you enjoyed the first movie, then you’ll enjoy this one too.

Couldn’t decide between 3 & 4 stars because PRU wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as good as PacRim 1. The characters were the best part of this movie, although PRU ruined some characterization from the original movie. Still not the worst mech movie out there and I am still looking forward to PR3, spin-offs & prequels. I just found it ironic that the director stated he didn’t want it to be “just a mech vs. monster movie” and wanted to create depth, but he did exactly what he didn’t want to do. It felt too focused on the new & improved mechs & kaijus, but not enough of the human aspects that were present in the original. Very action-packed and fun for viewers that don’t really care for the rest.

Not as good as the first but it’s still fun there is some cringe worthy but the 4k is where this shines its bright vivid and gorgeous it’s worth picking up for the 4k but don’t expect it to be like the first

Was a huge pain to find this version... Movie is fun and pretty much just what you would expect. Downside, not a steelbook... wth bestbuy? Exclusive Version in normal packaging? Almost didnt buy it. If it wasnt a gift I would have passed it.

The movie takes place over a decade later depicting what life it like with the aftermath of the first movie. Cities completely destroyed, giant alien skeletons laying around, etc. Now civilization is rebuilding and having to deal with scavengers.

I wish there were more 4K/3D combo packs! It just makes sense to get the entire experience in one package! For that I give it 5 stars! The movie itself is obviously not as good as the original, so I drop it to 4 stars. Love the package though.

Giant fighting robots. Whats not to like. Although I liked it, it was a little far fetched that the only drivers were all kids versus the first movie where the majority of the drivers were adults. Interesting plot line. Hope they make a third.

I really enjoyed the first Pacific Rim, but without Guillermo del Toro being very involved, the follow up lost a lot. While the visuals/effects are still top notch in many ways, and some of the actors and actresses are engaging, it feels more like one of the recent Transformers movies than the original Pacific Rim (that's not a compliment). I felt the scale and immensity of the everything in the first movie, but there are only a few scenes where I got the same sense in this one despite them trying to go larger. The director even states he wanted to make the Jeagers faster. Anyhow, if it's on a really good sale, maybe worth a pickup, but there are better choices out there.

The 4k resolution in this movie is second to none. Perfect color, amazing darks. The Dolby Atmos sound really immerses you in the movie. We own a lot of 4k movies and none have come close to this one. The movie itself is fun and entertaining.

Huge fan of the first Pacific Rim. This movie builds off the first story with more action and stunning graphics. However the plot fell short of its full potential. Wish it was just as good as the first. (even the music wasn't as compelling)

Uprising is not nearly as good as the first Pacific Rim movie but it has its moments. The real draws are the Dolby Vision image and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack. They are excellent. If it's on sale I say buy it for its technical merits.

The movie itself is mediocre at best. It's a semi sequel to the original, with only a few returning characters. The main characters from the first have been replaced with whiny teenagers. As far as the product, Best Buy gets a 5 star rating for being the only vendor in the US to offer a 3D version of the movie in this 3D/4K combo pack. Please take note, WE STILL WANT 3D in the US! Keep them coming Best Buy :)

This sequel was pretty darn good. Actors and storyline were also very good. And as far special effects, Amazing. Had to get this movie on 4K to really appreciate the effects of the movie.

While not as good as the first Pacific Rim,Uprising is a fun sequel.John Boyega does a fine job as the new lead.The actuion is slick and the film does feature some returning cast form the first film.Some nice bonus features are included.

Decent follow up to the original. Love that Best Buy does these 4K/3D bundles, so it was a no-brainer to get this! 3D is pretty good, but not quite as good as the original, but the 4K equals the original movie...it's reference caliber.

This film was actually really well done which i was skeptical about but they pulled it off and i was pleaseantly surprised. It also looks and sounds amazing if you have the right set up. My only gripe was that it could have been longer

Overall just a fun robots versus monsters B movie. Not as good as the first one; however, wasn't expecting it to be since the director is not the same. Don't expect anything award worthy. Just check your brain at the door, and enjoy.

A pale imitation of the original pacific rim. This moving has almost nothing that made the original movie amazing. It still might quality as an average popcorn movie but its terrible compared to the original.

Great sequel movie (which isn't always the case). This 4K bluray also incorporates the following: 4K UHD bluray, 3D bluray and 2D bluray (4K+3D+2D). Every release that was done in 3D should be released in this kind of set. The 4K image is very impressive, the 3D rendering gives a whole new depth to the movie. Please release all movies like this. Highly recommended.
