If you like monsters fighting films in a more futuristic setting, this movie might be right up your alley. The Kaiju, larger ugly creatures, come from the ocean floor rift to try and take over the earth by their master alien race. To defend earth, humans have built these enormous robots that require two pilots to "drift" their mind in sync. This helps control the robots movements and action. Speaking of action, there is a lot of it packed in here. CGI was great, plot is interesting and although not a lot of brain power is needed to watch, it is still entertaining. One last thing, this second movie is tries to explain what happened in the first movie. To make your life easier checkout the first movie and then watch this second film. You will have no trouble connecting the dots.

If you like strange science fiction, this is a good movie.

This movie is an okay follow-up to the original, but the 3D version which includes the Dolby Atmos soundtrack really makes for a great viewing experience!

I love going to this store. I'll probably go back to the location just to get a stereo system. My kids love to visit the gaming section. So I'll be back.

John Bega brings some funny moments to an action movie.

Giant robots are fun to watch beat things up. I recommend this for anyone who wants to watch a mindless movie and not really think about it too much.

As a monster movie with robots the original is one of my favorites. It's not great, but entertaining. The sequel seems to try but the story got in the way of an action movie. Definitely sets up a sequel. I hope it's more like the first if it happens.

We enjoyed the original Pacific Rim as a fun popcorn flick and scifi romp. Pacific Rim Uprising is decent, but the weakness is that this movie is somehow geared toward a younger audience. There are acrobatics inside the robots as the Jaegers mimic the actions of their drivers who are performing flips and somersaults, the main characters are much younger than in the original movie, and it just feels less realistic. (Yeah, that doesn't sound logical at all, does it?!) We couldn't put our thumb on everything that changed (maybe an influx of Power Rangers?), but even as the violence escalates the peril doesn't feel as serious as it did in the original Pacific Rim and even our twenty-something daughter felt this movie was "younged-down."

The movie itself is a good action feature, but I would definitely recommend 4k for this film. the whole visual and audio experience is top notch

We enjoyed this follow up to Pacific Rim from a while back, which we also liked. I'll try not to mention any spoiler info! We liked the story line and that some characters from the first movie were included for continuity. Some characters didn't create an emotional connection to us, but the main two actors were really good in their roles. The special effects for the Jaegers and Kaiju were believable and the battles felt realistic. Once again, a few scrappy determined people are charged with saving the entire world against outrageous odds.... some twists and turns we didn't anticipate from some people, but the movie has a happy ending, thank goodness! And it kind of leaves an opening for more related battles in the future.
