It was not as good as the first movie ! But what sequel is ? Maybe they can make up for it on the 3rd and have a decent trilogy! This was a monster family movie ! It had a plot it had young teenagers and I think that upset the critics and some fans who said the movie was for children only ?? ( I'm 57! ) This movie is not the first movie ,It's a fun ride as they say and makes you feel good in 3D I bought this movie in 4K and Blu Ray 3D and Blu Ray The 3D is not as good as the first movie but what movie is ??? The 3d in Uprising was very good!! That why i bought it for the 3D!! I don't even have a 4 K TV .But now that this movie came with the 4 K I'm looking at new TVs. I have heard the 4K version is reference quality!

Hopefully I won't write any spoilers. If you like big battle bots fighting otherworldly monsters, then don't think.. just pick this movie up, you'll enjoy it. Do yourself a favor and don't think too much, you'll spoil it for yourself. Compared to the first movie, I thought this one didn't have as much character depth. With two exceptions, none of the main characters are back in this movie - and what few of the lesser characters were there either had a quick demise or a handful of lines. The two scientists from the first movie had a major impact on events in this movie, but I was disappointed in how their lives had gone in two different directions. We weren't really given the backstory/story time to explain why that was the case, just a few lines. It was truly a missed opportunity that would have worked better for the story arc, had they explored it. I was hoping to have more of an emotional response to certain events in the movie. Often the feeling was flat - like I got what they were trying to do, but it got lost in the story/delivery. I would have enjoyed actually feeling betrayed by some of the character's decisions as the movie progressed, but I didn't. I won't spoil the 'shocking reveal' about one of the two scientists, but even then as that scene played itself out, all I could say to myself was "I figured that out half an hour ago, I'm not at all surprised." The writers also seemed went out of their way to make the Asian CEO seem like a horrific insensitive demon of a human being - when in the end that wasn't exactly the case. Was she ruthless? Yes. Did she have a personal goal for herself & the business? Yes. Did her character exhibit honor? Yes. In the end I felt she was portrayed as Japanese stereotype from some Anime I've watched, only to pull a 180° and then pitch her as a vulnerable woman toward the end. There were so many missed opportunities here that could have touched on important cultural & gender equality issues that were simply missed. If you're going to write a character as someone you want the audience to dislike (neé hate) only to have their true character (vulnerability) show through later in the movie, then don't have it be a 180° reversal of who you've portrayed the character to be! It was like seeing the same actor play two different characters with the same name. Don't let my gripes about the character development get in the way. Honestly, this is going to be a movie I watch when I'm bored and want to see larger-than-life things battle each other. Just like when I have a bad day and think it can't get worse, I'll watch Cloverfield.

Good Conclusion to the first Pacific Rim with good action and humor and good addition to the collection a must have for the collector .

IF YOU LIKED THE FIRST ONE YOU WILL LIKE THE SECOND AS WELL. DIRECTED AT A LITTLE YOUNGER GENERATION BUT STILL GOOD. GREAT 4 K QUALITY

This one has more action but less character development, still great to watch these mechs battle with these monsters.

If you’re someone who grew up watching monster movies or are just into monsters and robots then this is the movie for you!

I wouldn't put this movie in the same category as transformer s but I would say very close to it meaning movie was good.

Speaking about the first Pacific Rim movie, the film was very complex with several main stories going on at the same time. You have a father daughter mixup, you have a love story between the two drifters and the debut of the mecca monsters. With the storyline being so complicated but they didn’t spend too much time getting you involved in each of the scenarios so it was just a good all-around film. The uprising it’s pretty much exactly what it says, the movie lost all of its edge I believe when they tried to grandeur the screen. They did touch on the first movie but with all the new tricks and tips they tried in the uprising I just don’t think it work.

This was an entertaining movie. Eastwood still can't act; so, this was a good role for him, as the viewer doesn't really have to take him too seriously. The CG was great, and the story was easy to follow. Worth the sale price.

Great movie and priced right. I don’t know if 4k is much better but it was about the same as Blu-ray anyway.

If you watched the first one then your going to love this one too. Excellent movie for everybody in the family to watch

Very entertaining, well made! The colors and the special effects were great! The story is like any SC-FI typically way out in left field fantasy which makes it delightful if your into SC-FI. Great plot for a SC-FI and just as good as the first Pacific Rim. I only noticed 2 returning characters but not the main actors from the first. The set the movie many years later so it works to have the son of the main guy in the last film be one of the leading actors taking up in his fathers footsteps. The surround sound is great. I recommend. Having 4K and 3D Blu-ray in one package why is this not the norm???? I have yet to find a deal like this with a good price and having 4K and a 3D Blu-ray together. I like 4K but hands down prefer 3D Blu-ray over it!!! When you have the right setup like I do with 110” screen 3D is perfect. Please Best-buy bundle more movies like this with 4K and 3D Blu-ray.

This movie was a cool follow up to the first film. I got it in 3D for all the action scenes and it looks amazing.

After all the negative reviews I read about this film, I was expecting to see a real bomb! Surprisingly, the film was not bad. There was a lot of action with a storyline that was okay. Acting was okay and the story held my interest. However, it was the 3D CGI effects that were good- especially in the robot and alien creature battle scenes. This is, of course, a very subjective thing. I love 3D so I am particularly looking for good CGI effects. While I don't think that the film is as good as the first "Pacific Rim", it was not bad. All in all, I found the film to be better than I expected. It is worth a viewing to see for yourself.

A move like this begs to be seen in 4k. Amazing special effects never looked so crisp. Great movie as well.

Of course the first movie is amazing the second one here is amazing in it's own way as well. Worth it =) =)

Riveting sequel! Picked up right off of the 1st movie an takes you in to the thriller immensely... Gone 4k...

This is one of the best movies from 2018, The picture is upstanding a story that’s good but I love the movie
