    I grabbed this so I would always have a place to stick my phone and have it hooked up to a charger with electrical protection. Living in Florida, we get a lot of surges and this seems to be great so far. The lights are indeed bright, but you can simply turn them off by the side switch. I have a Panamax unit for my audio system and it seems to work great also.
