Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the air fryer and ease of use as top features of the HomeCHEF CD87KS Multioven Microwave. Many appreciate its multiple functions, including the microwave, broiler, and convection capabilities, but some find the controls require a learning curve and the appliance is noisy. The stainless steel finish is visually appealing to many, although it is prone to fingerprints.

A 4-in-1 That Really Is the Sum of Its Parts
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS + Is an inverter microwave at up to 1000W, air fryer, broiler, and 1300W convection oven all in one body + Performs all 4 functions extremely well, with even cooking, and little need to preheat + Stainless steel body looks great on the counter + Medium 1.2 Cu. Ft size is compact enough to stand on the counter by itself without needing to be built-in (although you can have it installed to look built-in with a separate trim kit) + Comes with a very comprehensive set of physical instructions and a small cookbook with some tasty recipes + Easy to operate menus and buttons + Comes with a rotating glass bottom, tray for catching grease/oil, a wire rack, and air fryer basket accessories CONS - Fan can be noticeably loud in all cooking modes, with a cooling period that extends the fan running for a time after the cooking/microwave process ends - Display is a bit dim, particularly in a bright room (but still easily visible in my opinion) - The inside light, while always on when operating, doesn’t get very bright - While the stainless steel is gorgeous, it can be a bit of a fingerprint magnet - It vents out a good amount of heat on the sides and back, which can heat up the area around the oven if it isn’t spaced properly - Lacks some control/flexibility compared to dedicated air fryers, broilers, and convection ovens MY OPINION Usually combined devices and appliances like this always give me pause as it can be very difficult to combine functions and not feel like you are trading convenience for missing out on some key capabilities. In this case, Panasonic is bringing together an inverter microwave, convection oven, FlashXpress broiler, and air fryer into one device that isn’t much bigger than a standard medium-large microwave. What is surprising is that despite combining 4 different (normally standalone) devices together, you don’t really feel like you are missing much. I have been using this combined oven for the past week extensively, and to cut a long story short, I have very little reservations in recommending it. THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT As a microwave, there really isn’t much to report that you likely don’t already know going in. You can adjust the power of the microwave (it defaults to 1000W), along with the cook-time, or reheat/defrost settings, and it works exceptionally well. Panasonic says they use a patented inverter technology for the microwave, and while it is hard to say how much better it is compared to other microwave technologies, I have zero complaints here. It is easily the best microwave I have owned. As an air fryer/broiler, again, there isn’t much to complain about. You have 5 presets to choose from (one for air frying, two for broiling, and 2 combo settings), and while you have less control over the process than you’d normally get from a standalone device (you can’t adjust the heat or tailor the cooking process for specific types of food for example), honestly I don’t miss them much. For example, we made some fresh chicken wings (both through traditional baking and through air frying/broiling) and they worked perfectly. You will want to watch what you are cooking more closely to ensure you don’t overcook (as well as check their temp from time-to-time), but in general, what matters is that you have control enough to successfully cook the food how you want, and in this case you most definitely do. My only real complaint in this regard would be that the wire rack which you place the air fryer basket on could be a bit larger. Since you will want to broil on just the rack, and then air fry in the basket, you generally can’t fit as much food on the rack as you can in the basket, which may lead to some batch splitting if you’re cooking a large amount. On the flip side, the enamel tray works very well for catching grease and other liquids that may fall from what you are cooking. Finally, in terms of the convection oven, again it works beautifully as you would expect a convection oven to. Due to the 1.2 Cu. Ft size of the oven, you may not have enough space to do large quantity cooking at once, but if you are making single or smaller batch meals, this should be no problem. It only goes up to 425 degrees, which could be limiting if you need to run it higher, but in most cooking cases, I never found this as issue, it just may take a bit more time to cook depending on the recipe. All-in-all, I am genuinely impressed with this device across the board. It does put out a bit of heat which may require you to be more selective about your placement of the oven (measure first!) and it lacks some control, but in all honesty, these are nitpicks for a device that is so successful in so many ways. I wouldn’t use this as my only oven appliance in my home just for the lack of ability to cook larger meals at once for my family, but if your in the market for a microwave or other smaller oven device, there is very little reason to not go with something as premium feeling and successfully versatile as this.

Best pandemic purchase hands down.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this for 75% of the meals I cook. I would recommend keeping the manual in an accessible place for the first few weeks of use. The Genius sensor is a little mad, but once you burn your popcorn a few times, you'll adapt quickly.

Best microwave oven
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best value for money. Oven inbuilt with airfry, broil and several cooking options replace use of multiple cooking appliances. Best for small apartments and inbuilt steam cleaning is added advantage.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love its multi-functionality. I don’t have a lot of counter space so this eliminates 4 separate devices. But read the manual.

Worth its cost
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to operate. Tried using it as an oven and airfryer in addition to microwave. Do not expect it to be equal to a stand alone airfryer. Nevertheless, it is still a good purchase because one appliance in place of three. Appearance and build are good.

Microwave
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microwave works great. Haven't tried the airfryer yet. It has a cooldown process where the fan runs after the food is cooked. It continues to run after you open the door. It took a little getting used to; but its fine.

Happy cook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have long used a Mocowave-Convection oven and the Panasonic offers even more cooking options. So far--some three months--so good. It takes a bit to learn how to employ the various options but the accompanying guide is handy and easy to use. An excellent product.

Great item
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Panasonic 4 in 1. It is everything we wanted in one. Amazing! I am still learning all the multi-functions, but it truly does it all. I don't know exactly what an Inverter does, but I am sure it does that well, also.
